Infrared conversion for Panasonic

I have been using an old infrared converted G3 (590nm) for some years and really would like to try some (better) video and time-lapse. As such I was looking to convert my G85, having just upgraded to the G9 for visible light.

Looking at the Kolari site they suggest that many Panasonic models have an internal LED that checks the shutter which very often messes up the images.

Does anyone know how much of an impact this really is? If it is a real issue, then it looks like the G7 could be a good solution - another G9 is a little hard to justify!

I have converted a G1 and a GH2 to IR. No problems.

Finally uncovered a little more detail about this problem in this youtube video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1IK1xR8QqY. It seems as though it is mainly a problem on darker shots, and does not occur when using electronic shutter or video. Also it only applies to some of the Panasonic models. I can live with this limitation.

My wife recently had her LX 100 converted by Kolari Vision, they did a nice job.

And the camera works great, without issue.

Ask Kolari. They have lots of experience with conversions. But personally I stay away from converting new-ish cameras which are increasing dedicated to the visible spectrum. I'm still using a G1 but admittedly not yet needing the extra features of a more modern camera.

Yes, if I did not want to try video I would stick to the G3. It is fine for prints at 10"x14" and probably bigger. Even my old Canon G10 prints well after noise reduction.

I thought i would include a small sample off what I have been doing. I have not done this before so I apologize if it does not work.
