Doesn't negate what I said. You're whole purpose was to toss in a ringer so you could make someone on this forum look foolish by picking the smartphone image.

You do a good enough job looking foolish all on your own.

I don't go around trying to make others look foolish.  What you've done is insulting to anyone who comes here with good intents.  Rationalize all you like, you set a trap.  You wanted to ridicule someone, possibly everyone on this forum.  You even remarked to me that I would be embarrassed by my choice.  Well it looks as if it has crushed shadows AND blown highlights, and that has noting to do with my monitor.

By rights you should be banned.  You are the worst kind of troll.  You don't do it for fun, or to make a joke, you do it because you are vicious and petty and enjoy hurting people.

Good idea, but flawed. Only the person who was there can say how accurate the colors turned out to be. Especially with a dummy and not a real person in the test.

You just described the vast majority of your posts.  Most of your posts are just blatant personal attacks with no photography content whatsoever.

Super hard, especially when the brand isn’t listed for each photo. Lol

On a scale of 1-10 what is your favorite ice cream:

1. Tea Pot

2. Candle

3. Dog hair

even the question makes no sense...

I don't go around trying to make others look foolish.

so you feel foolish....i don't.. i did post i would like to edit C ...i was attracted to the extra DOF... did think maybe a phone because of the DOF but dismissed it as i think it look to good for a phone .... i did not think the Canon shot look the best ....i have canon cameras ....i don't care

What you've done is insulting to anyone who comes here with good intents.

have you any skin?..

Rationalize all you like, you set a trap.

maybe

You wanted to ridicule someone, possibly everyone on this forum.

so are you going to link me to all the folk he ridiculed ?????

You even remarked to me that I would be embarrassed by my choice.

you are...and more

Well it looks as if it has crushed shadows AND blown highlights, and that has noting to do with my monitor.

and you still voted for it ?????? ho yes you say earlier you think its the canon one .....so you have to vote for it even when you see all the problems with it ....you just cant bring your self to vote for a better looking photo if you think its not your Canon photo....i see where you keep insisting to know which camera was used for which photo ...you desperately wanted to chose the correct one .....thats so sad

By rights you should be banned. You are the worst kind of troll.

????

You don't do it for fun, or to make a joke, you do it because you are vicious and petty and enjoy hurting people.

this name calling is a slur and a personal attack on someone character....but it makes me realise how upset you must feel not to chose your camera

What have i learnt from this thread ...1 phone cameras are better than i think ..i am not alone by the poll results

2 i did not pick out the Xtrans ...i would have most probably done 3 years ago .

3 some fanboys get their knickers in a twist over nothing ....(Americans may have to google knickers in a twist)

What is "default" for a Canon? My M6 has "auto" and "standard" picture styles, among others. I can't remember which one was set "out of the box". In the old days, it would have been the standard one, but now, I suspect that it's auto. Or at least, it's probably auto in some settings and standard in others. But I can't remember what position the mode selector dial was in when I took the camera out of the box, so I don't know which picture style it would have set. As far as I know, on "auto" the picture style the camera uses depends on what kind of scene it thinks it's shooting. So, in your example, auto might have given the landscape style, or it might have given the portrait style.

That is not how it works. The Auto picture style does not select one of the other picture styles. It works independently and the color tone will be adjusted automatically to suit the scene. My experience when shooting landscapes is that "Auto" is a little bit more vivid than "Standard" but not as vivid as "Landscape".

Thanks for the clarification. I've never used auto. I mostly shoot RAW, so the picture style is irrelevant to most of what I do. I use a tweaked version of fine detail for my JPEG shooting. In this scene, I wonder whether the camera interpreted it as a portrait or a landscape? Also, presumably, auto adjusts the other parameters as well as saturation. Contrast would be the most obvious parameter for adjustment. It's interesting to see how these five shots use different levels of contrast. C looks almost like it has fill flash, whereas B and D both seem to have fairly high contrast.

the exposure differences suck

the subject mater sucks

a total waste of time from the Fuji owner - who is a top poster in the canon forum - it's a trap...

as I predicted
a Fuji owner who doesn't control parameters and doesn't have "skin" (literally) in the game fixes it so Fuji wins

control light, exposure, profile, and put skin in the game and canon is the better value proposition

I choose C without pulling it into Photoshop. Fact is I have a Samsung cam... er, phone.

I said before I did not like the shadows on the left.

And this wasn't about "pick your camera" but which photo you liked.

So let me be clear. I don't like the guy. He did set a trap. And then screwed up because he asked the question wrong. It's not about picking the Canon photo.

There's another thread on this forum - What is the Agenda?  which asks why he posts on the Canon forum - top poster - but not on the Fuji.

I say troll.  You say no.

Maybe you're just looking at it ass-backwards.

And yes I am a sob - it's my birthright.

It’s by a fair margin.  Fuji makes fine cameras, but this almost pathological need to validate one’s preferences has no practical point.
