SL1 owner looking at an SL2 or SL3

I currently have a light travel kit with the SL1 as a body.  I am more than happy with the SL1 but I am looking to add another body and use the SL1 as a backup.  I was ready to pull the trigger on the SL3 but a friend of mine is looking to sell a lightly used SL2 that is less than a year old.  She is wanting to get into FF (probably a 6D II).  She is asking for $300 with the 18-55 STM lens and I am quite tempted.

The body has under 3,000 shutter actuations is in pristine condition.  I am not concerned about video as I don't even use that feature on my SL1.

Is there any reason for me to go with the SL3 over the SL2 or save some $$ and get the like new SL2?

Also, does the SL3 have a depth of field button?  I don't see it in the pictures and that could be a deal breaker.

I am in the same boat and just looking for something that has slightly better AF and frames per second to shoot my kids playing sports.

If for some reason you do not take it.  Please message me and I would be interested.

Full disclosure, I haven't used any of the SL cameras but I have read the reviews as I'd like to get one sometime.

Pretty much all of the reviews for the SL3 say that there's barely any difference between the two, the SL3 added 4k video recording but it's limited and they wouldn't use it. They recommend saving money and getting the SL2 since otherwise the two cameras are mostly the same thing. The SL2 is a pretty decent step up from the SL1, especially in Live View performance.

Hi I have owned the SL1 it was nice but the SL2 I own is even better more MP and a much better Cmos sensor way better low light capability... I would not even bother with the SL3 I think canon wasted there time even making it because nothing really changed to much to even make SL2 owners upgrade to the SL3!

If the camera and lens are in prime shape $300  for both is a great price.

I will probably buy the SL2 from my friend for $300. Besides the battery and charger, she is also throwing in a spare Canon battery and a 16gb SD card.

She is getting another offer but selling it to that person for $350.
