What’s in your trinity?

I’m sure just about everyone knows what a trinity is but for those who don’t; A trinity is basically having 3 lenses that cover a large range in focal lengths that typically include an ultra wide zoom, standard zoom, and medium length zoom.

Mine are long in the tooth but they cover my needs: 17-40mm f4L, 24-105mm f4L, 70-200mm f2.8L.

I suppose the pro’s standard three, though I hesitate to call myself a pro since I’m a writer first.

I use the three f/2.8 L zooms: the 16-35mm Mark II, 24-70 Mark I and 70-200 IS Mark I.

I travel a fair amount and usually limit my carry to three lenses.  I only own two zooms, so can't achieve the kind of trinity described.  As often as not I pack my 70-300, 100 L macro, and 24 pancake.  While a focal length gap exists, my needs are almost always met.

Seems all the posts are geared towards full frame but what about a crop trinity :). Mine would be the EF-S10-22 f/3.5-4.5, EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS, and the EF 70-200L f/4 non-IS.

My Prime trinity comprises of: 20ART f/1.4, 35L II and 135ART f/1.8 or alternatively 200L f/2. They all have excellent central sharpness wide open and minimum CA.

My trinity is slightly different; prime instead of a standard zoom and a longer zoom; 16-35mm f/4L IS, Sigma 50mm Art f/1.4 and 100-400mm mk II.

On my R I use EF 16-35 f4 IS, RF 24-105 F4 IS, EF 70-200 f4 IS.  I retired about 2 years ago and sold all my fast glass, F4 is just fine now   A 24-70 2.8 was my main lens for in door event work but now its just not enough zoom range so the RF 24-105 f4 fits the need.

I am picking up a RF 24-240 vacation zoom today, all 3 of the trinity is a bit much for vacation.  Seems like my wife never stops nagging about the hassle of the trinity.  So I get the 24-240, not the best IQ but good enough for my use and my wife is paying for it

I am a nature photography guy, and I love my reach, while seldom needing a fast lens. So I use the 16-35/4 IS, the 24-105 IS (original version), and the 100-400 mk II. I have a 70-200/4 IS available if I’m sure I won’t need the reach. The new version, replacing my old non-IS original version.

I’ve stuck with the 2.8 zoom trinity because I shoot a lot of indoors assignments, many of which ban flash. So I have to be able to shoot in available light in nearly any situation.
