Getting to know my recently acquired DP3m near some ancient megaliths.

Re: DP3m with ancient stones

great, No1  does it for me

p.s. I found my DP2M difficult to handhold for SS <1/50, DP3M (on the way from eBay) will be difficult to hand hold for SS <100 [ so rule about SS applies]

thanks for sharing,

Rado

Interesting place. I particularly like the lavender flowers. The stones among the flowers makes for a good subject. What made you choose to shoot these at f2.8? (I see the slow shutter speeds, so I'm guessing there was very little light, and I'm also guessing these were shot handheld.)

Thanks! I have the same experience regarding handheld. It takes a while to get the shot right. I'm beginning to think the Merrills should be on a tripod basically always.

Thank you. It was an overcast day and I wanted to get a shallow DOF, so 2.8 was the best option. I think the shallow DOF works well here, but to be honest I am still learning about F-stops and such as I am discovering the world of Merrill goodness. These cameras definitely need a tripod though, saves a lot of time.

I find 1/160 is a safe speed for the DP3M, but some people have steadier hands than others.

Shooting in low-res can help. These from yesterday:

In theory that could cover a lot of Europe, but it still can be my beloved Sverige.

Re: DP3m with ancient stones

wonderful microcontrast and edge sharpness.

I adore these Merrills, IMHO that sensor is also better than actual (Good, I like it too)

for Quattro.
