Bizarre pack, with what resembles a Nazi insignia behind it - great find, Steve! (Hope you are enjoying Amsterdam.)

Thanks Sam!  Just a wonderful city for street photographers.  Much to see and photograph, like when I'm home in NYC.  People are so friendly and welcoming and seem less sensitive and annoyed about being photographed in public.  I visited FOAM this afternoon, the Photography museum of the city, and saw the work of Alex Prager for the first time...a very talented photographer and film maker.

Sounds great, Steve. Keep ‘em coming...

That photo is one of a standard set of anti-smoking photos which have to be displayed on packets in the EU. The caption is "Smoking causes impotence".

One of the photos shows the stump of an amputated leg, with a caption claiming that smoking can lead to loss of legs. It was used without permission, and the guy in the photo has complained that he lost his leg in an accident and it was nothing to do with smoking.

Thank u for explaining the purpose of the advertisement.  Growing up I remember the Marlboro man being a macho cowboy on horseback, puffing away, a symbol of masculinity and virility.  I also remember the days when the tobacco companies consistently said that there was no proof that cigarettes caused cancer.  We’ve come a long way baby...

Marlboro Man

Almost looks like he's trying to protect himself from being stepped on . Nicely seen, Steve, this has your expected "oddball" signature

Thanks Martin.  I was intrigued by the idea of nudity being used to sell cigarettes until D Cox explained the real intent.

An old Bill Hicks joke.

People keep saying if i give up smoking its great, you get your sense of smell back...   i live in New York, you smell the place?  I don't want my sense of smell back...

They put those warnings on the packs now...  smoking causes impotence.    I went to the store the other day and they handed me a pack..  i saw they now have low birthweight packs..   i said gimme one of those I want the low birthweight pack....
