Pics from vacation (warning lots of heavy pics)
13

Mostly birds, butterflies and flowers from my vacation in Austria. All with SD1 Merrill and 100-400 mm C and 17-70 mm C. I'm very happy with the 100-400 mm C, I like the quality, the range it offers and that I'm able to do proxy. I bought it s a replacement for my 150-600 mm that got stolen, and I must say I prefer the 100-400 mm because it's lighter and less cumbersome. By staying at ISO 100 all the time, unfortunately some are a little blurry.

Some really beautiful shots in that collection and all shot with my favourite DSLR. I  also have the same lenses.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to restrict yourself to shooting a ISO 100. I can get excellent results with the SD1M at ISO 200 - 320 and if really needed up to 640 (if there's enough light).

Anyway, great results. Thanks for posting.

Oh! That is lovely, simply exquisite!

I have not really looked at the 100-400 for the SD1M, may have to re-evaluate, as the 150-600 is a beast.

Look where you want to go. Don't look where you don't want to go.

Thanks !  You're right I should push up the ISO sometimes, I'll put auto iso on one of the custom mode C[1-3] memory to catch birds in flight during my walks for example, that would help. Coming from a SD Q H which also got stolen, I like the SD1 Merrill. Only minor things I dislike is I wish one of the wheels would change exposure compensation when in A mode for example, and i haven't found a way to lock focus in continuous focus mode. Other then that great camera, feels good ergonomically and I like the rendering.

Thanks ! I tend to take pictures of Cosme a bit too much because their simplicity makes them easily photogenic. But the light on that one was nice I thought.

The 100-400mm is really a nice lens IMO, after having used the 150-600mm C and the 100-400mm C for some weeks now, I would buy the latter if I had to start over once again.
