Nikon D7100 tethered shooting

Hi all! I'm wondering why I'm not able to take pictures with the shutter-release button on the D7100 body when tethered to Capture One 12 on my 2018 Macbook pro. I have tried both the USB cable that comes with the camera and a Tether Tools USB-C cable. Taking pictures with the in-program shutter release button works, but when I trigger from the camera the picture does not reach the computer. No setting information is shown in the Capture One camera tab, and there is no live view. Am I missing something? I don't find it really practical to trigger pictures with the mouse/keyboard, especially as live view on the camera display doesn't work when tethered either.
