Honestly, it amazes me that these sorts of posts are taken by some as personal affronts to their Pentax Lifestyle.

That said if Pentax brought out a mirrorless with a new mount, compact and lightweight lenses, and that lovely 24MP sensor, I'd be sorely tempted to switch back. Especially if it had the old K-5II form factor (and maybe a flip screen). Sadly, I don't think it's likely to happen!

Thanks for explaining that, Mike. These are common needs/requests that Ricoh doesn't take seriously. And if you bring it up, it's tantamount to treason in these quarters.

The GR is not a solution, as it's not a real multi-lens system, though it is brilliant for what it's supposed be: a street camera, with a wide lens attachment accessory.

SRS-microsystem has them as used at their webshop!

I started with an *ist D and used most of the Pentax cameras up to and including the K-1. I've really loved using Pentax cameras and participating (well, lately, just hanging out) in this forum. Sadly, since the D800, then D850 and Z-7, I've used my Pentax systems less and less and after a year of zero use, I finally accepted that I'll never be pressing their shutter buttons again, so they've been packed up in a big heavy box and sent off to my ever wonderful dealer SRS Microsystems.

There seem to be many fewer forum members that I know, but thanks to all of you over the decades, it's been great.

I'm sure I'll drop in from time to time,

Sophie

I'm with BobORama... There shouldn't be any backlash for "branching out."  I mean, as one who was loving Pentax since my Spotmatic F, one has to see the decline over the years. I purchased a Sony last Christmas but, I took my Pentax K5-IIs on a long hike in the Alaskan outback several weeks ago because it filled the WR niche that I was walking into.

There's a guy who posts in this forum whose initially reaction is combative if anyone besmirches Pentax gear.  Such is the risk for the impersonal nature of online posting. As for myself, I actually felt like I was cheating on the Pentax brand when I bought my Sony. I'm so glad I'm over that and, what relief it's been.

There are many things that I like about Pentax and a growing number of things that I like about the brand and model of camera that I recently purchased.  Since I've purchased the other brand, I still frequent this forum but rarely post. I've never been to the Sony forum and don't plan to.

Generally, Pentaxians are the nicest people around. When I bought my Pentax camera, members like KPM2, Oiche, and Flektogen helped me a lot figuring out the Pentax world. Some of us get a bit carried away or emotional when someone "besmirches Pentax gear", but that is also reflective of their emotional bond with Pentax brand. As for your last comment, I don't think you need to buy another Pentax camera or lens in order to participate in discussions here :-). I have other systems (Sony, Samsung) but I rarely post on those forums

That is a nice collection of Pentax gears. I wonder how many here can top that. It must be an excruciating and hard decision to part with. Anyway, enjoy your newly found love.
