RF 24-240mm F4-6.3 IS USM Focal Length vs F-Stop

Can anyone tell which aperture is usable at which focal length? Or to put it another way, up to what focal length do I have f-stop 4?

I'll let you know about August 31st. BH says it should be available August 30th. Until we have a production unit to try, anything else is guessing.

However, I can say with certainty that it will be f4 at the wide end and f6.3 at the tele end. Yeah, I know...

Aye. I should have said, no brighter than f/5.6 for 70-240mm. Yuck.

Hmm, those are not as good as I hoped but I guess are expected.  It’s a full stop slower than the 24-105 from 70mm and up and is only f4 for 3mm

Yes, but it is to be expected from a non L quality lens

As impressive as the focal range of this lens is as unimpressive are the aperture numbers at various focal lenghts. One who uses this lens must make many compromises.
I rather carry 3 lenses to cover that focal range ...

I can understand some peoples aversion to this lens for the above reasons.

I'm not that serious a photographer. The vast majority of my shots are a f/8 or f/11, so these apertures are a non-issue for me.

Absolutely. The lens has a justification and will find its customers.
