You're doing fine with your SX60. In the end, you may start to like the cam.

Re: The Great Blue Heron at 1365mm

This almost seems like a contest between the two of you - a very good contest for the rest of us to see!

Has anyone compared the image quality of the SX60 to that of the SX70? I can imagine that the 60, with its smaller number of megapixels, might have less image noise.  The 60 has digic 6 processor and JPEG format, while the 70 has digic 8 and both JPEG and RAW. Otherwise, I am guessing that the two cameras might be very similar, and I have no way of guessing whether the 70 would be the equivalent, in image quality, of the excellent examples you've posted from the 60.

Since getting the SX60, I haven't even turned on  my FZ80.

Just sharing images. No contest here, bill.

I wouldn't know, being new to the SX60, and never used the SX70.

Same lens, so might be similar.

Newer features of the SX70 are nice to have, me thinks.

Agreed with you ANAYV, no contest just sharing to others to see what cameras are capable.

Indeed, they are.

Right, from the RAW to faster processing of images (Digic 8).

Re: The Great Blue Heron at 1365mm

I wonder if the Digic 8 processor will make up for any extra  image noise of the SX70 (which might be caused by the extra 4 mpx on the same size sensor as the 60). Maybe in JPEG but not in RAW??? I do like the availability of RAW imaging in the 70, though in the past few months I've been shooting mostly JEPG.

Haven't shot RAW. I'm sure it will produce better results, but want to stick to easy editing, using FastStone Image Viewer.

Enjoy your day, Avian.
