T7i images rotated 2.5 degrees?

About 10 months ago I bought a T7i and ever since I've owned it I've always had to correct the rotation of the images about 2.5 degrees CCW. The lens is a Canon 17-55.

When I take the pictures I always align the bottom edge of the subject parallel with the frame in the LCD screen but as you can see the image is really rotated. To remedy this I can align the vertical right edge of the image with the right edge of the LCD screen but then it feels weird to rotate the camera like this.

Has anyone else had issues like this or is this normal?

Should I send this to Canon or a local camera shop and have them look it over?

I don't recall having this issue with the T1i I had.

Not normal. If only when shooting through the viewfinder then the mirror, focus screen, and/or viewfinder glass is cockeyed. If also does this using Live View, then I'd guess the sensor is mounted askew.

at  < 1 year this would be a warranty claim with Canon.  I'm a bit surprised you put up with it for 10 months.

IMHO, YMMV

Thanks. I'll see what I can do about getting it looked at.

You should also be able to turn a grid on in live-view to see if it is better aligned.

If it is level when you use the grid but not level when you align it to the bottom of the display that would tell you that the sensor is not aligned right.

You should also try seeing if it is level when you use the viewfinder.

UPDATE:
On Monday I sent the body off to Canon along with a copy of the Amazon receipt and I got a notice today that it will be repaired No-Charge. This surprises me a bit b/c the receipt from Amazon specifically says "No Warranty". I don't care if it cost me or not I just hope they solve the issue.

thnx

I hope it is fixed for free for you.  The Canon T7i (800D) camera is amazing when it's working properly.

That might be a claim of no warranty by the seller, not necessarily from the manufacturer

I just want to close this thread up. I received my camera back today and they replaced the circuit board in it under warranty. After re-configuring the camera I took a pic and all is good. Great service from Canon!
