***Mini Challenge*** ' Almost keepers....or the 'Missed shots' :)

OK, I think this is my first challenge ever.

Here goes , lol.

Let's keep it to a Max of 3 (three) images per person.

Try and include the EXIF data. if somehow not possible, tell us any setting you may have remembered (Shutter speed, Mode, EV, ISO, time of day, etc.

All photos captured can be from any time, as long as you took it, and it was from a Canon Powershot (no D-SLR's)

Deadline: August 5th, 2019

Now...the Challenge:

This one will be for shots you didn't quite get., but wished you Did.

For instance it could be a Bird in Flight (BIF)  with only one wing in the frame...or a really good composed shot, but it's OOF (Out Of Focus)..or blurred due to subject movement, or your hands ..perhaps you were in manual mode and selected too slow shutter speed.

Or maybe you have a shot where  someone moved in the way of the subject , just as you took the shot.

Even if the camera was the reason for the ' missed ' shot:

Example:

Here the camera Focused on the fence and not the subject behind it

The subject I was able to acquire AF was this:

Sorry, example not from Canon. I'm looking forward in the next few weeks to try out my new/old SX60 camera on this very subject. I think it will produce even better results.

Comment Posting Guidelines:

Feel free to post comments on the images. If you want to save bandwidth, remove the image from your reply so you just post text. Feel free to "like" photos by clicking the thumbs-up icon. The host will make up their own mind which images best fit their topic without being influenced by that.

PLEASE reply specifically to this posting with your images/entries. If you post an image in response to someone else’s image as a “sub-thread”, not only does it clutter up the thread and make image viewing difficult, but your image may get lost in the “mess”.

If you want people to give you constructive comments and criticism, ask for C&C.

Hope you don't mind, MyM3..I copied and pasted some of your text here..since I really don't know the rules.

Keep on shooting!

Re: ***Mini Challenge*** ' Almost keepers (MiguelATF #1)

My first (who knows if there will be more?) entry into the Almost-keepers challenge was a shot I took approximately 2 weeks ago, strolling along the main boulevard of a Mexican city (Victoria de Durango) I am visiting.  I was struck by a display of artificial hands in a window - but the shot I really wanted was the hands on the right-hand side of the frame - and a random passer-by on the left who I would be able to photograph right at the moment when his-or-her hand would be prominently visible in frame - and we could see the real fingers...contrasted with the false ones.  I waited and waited and waited but it seemed that the universe really didn't want to allow me to take the shot I wanted...so, finally, out of frustration, I took a handful of shots with distant humans.  I like (and liked) the framing of this one best - but for me it is still missing that human element I wanted...and finally gave up on in frustration.

OK...here's one I messed up.  This gecko was on the screen and I totally underexposed things, so it all ended up in silhouette, with no detail at all on the gecko.  It wasn't really this dark!

Almost Like Artwork...
1

Crafted this image from two shots with my G3X; attempted to smudge-paint the kitty-kat and then paste her onto the clouds shot.

Never was happy with the blending of the two layers, looks rather amateurish to me, but I humbly submit the image to this Challenge as an Almost Keeper....
