TG-6 Time Lapse Limitations?

I'm curious if I'm understanding the Time Lapse functionality of the Olympus TG-6 correctly...

You can only shoot up to 299 frames? No endless shooting?

You can only go down to 1fps? No sub-second shooting?

I was hoping to replace my aging GoPro 3 which will shoot time lapse until the battery dies or the card fills up at down to .5 sec intervals.

Correct. And that's a marginal improvement from the TG-3 which is limited to 99 frames.

That's not unusual. Most intervalometers are limited to 1 sec resolution.

I don't believe I've ever used the 0.5 sec interval option with any of my GoPros. I have several cameras with flexible interval/timelapse shooting modes. But I continue to use a GoPro more than 50% of the time. It's a natural for that sort of job and I don't worry about it being exposed to the environment.
