The new CIC 194 challenge is Summer!

The world is seeing a lot of heat now. Summer is here. Not so unusual in southern Arizona, but it is for the rest of the US and Europe and a lot of Asia.

Three in Exhibition to get us going.

I'll be changing these out, but these are good indicators of summer.

Re: **Photo Challenge CIC 194 -- Summer **

I will have some time tomorrow. I hope to get out to take some "summer" shots.

I also leave for Main this coming weekend. I will certainly get some good shots there along the coast.

Traveller La Jolla Cove July 14, 2019 (Rogue Wave Rescue)

From my July 14 Notes:

My first day in the ocean this year (interesting that I have to see my heart doctor tomorrow to complain how weak I am {and I am}, yet my new Fitbit shows me swimming 1,100 yards, almost 3/4's of a mile in rough surf and hiking 4.5 miles). I think I'll tell my doc that fitbit lies when it says my cardo health is excellent for my age....hummm...I will also note that I have quit my psyc theapy...it was fun, but after 3 months I know that I am depressed because I have failed to be able to retire....my therapist insists this is a choice of mine...which is true, but also not true at all....on the upside I did not drown on July 14, 2019)

Shot with my Olympus Tough underwater camera...but above water...lol

Me Too!...lol...General Rescue Image Here

...this was a little later when they were pulling everyone in from the Cove...there are 3 lifeguards in the water with their, "Red Rescue Cans."

I have never seen even one lifeguard in the water, here there were three making multiple trips to pull groups of swimmers out of the ocean...hummm

Me...?

Me retreat to terra firma fairly early.

I am just passing through LAX on my way to Detroit. LAX is as I remember it, a zoo. Glad I have retired and don't have to fly through here very often.

We will be in Detroit for 3 days, then on to Maine. I hope to get a few decent shots in Maine for this challenge.

There are plenty of photo opps in Detroit, JIm!

I have a shot I want for this challenge that requires some cooperation from Mother Nature.  So far she has played hard-to-get.

Re: **Photo Challenge CIC 194 -- Summer **

I have an idea that probably would have been easier to execute a few weeks ago but may be in prime time where some of you are.  I was looking forward to the technical challenge as well as the possible pleasing outcome.  What am I talking about?  Why, none other than my favorite harbingers of the core days of summer.  Fireflies.  Have any of you shot them?  If so, I'd like to see your results.  If they are presently active in your area, I encourage you to try.  I'm going to keep watching, and if there's a night when they are as dense as they were in early July, I'll grab my camera and tripod.

They are gone from where I live.  I tried to shoot them a few weeks back when we went camping in the flint hills but I failed miserably in my attempt.
