Convert Stereo Positives into motion GIFs

Hi, I have post this in open talk but I think this is the better category:  I bought some mind blowing stereo glass positives from 1890-1922.

And had the idea that two frames with different image content cutting behind each other are the rudimentariest form of a motion picture. Unfortunately DPREVIEW does not allowed to post GIFs, so here are two of the original pictures and you can find the animated versions via https://mind.work/2019/01/03/11-cm-frozen-time/

I like them in parallel stereo. The first gives a feel for the horror of trench warfare when mustard gas could kill in terrible and painful ways and gas mask were late to get to work well. It has good relief. France lost so many in that abysmal contest.  As to GIFs, no comment.

Re: Convert Stereo Positives into motion GIFs

Hey Garry, Thanks for your feedback. The reason I bought the glass from WWI had not been the idea to make some digital experiments. It had been the unreal motive: the relax posing of the soldiers in protection masks are in such a great contrast to the horror we know from the war. And I am total faszinated by the haptic of the Glass-Positive. Like I said in my blog: they reminds me on artefacts conserve in amber. Another iconografic picture I found and bought had been this one from Belgian Congo. It is like an advertising company had create the perfect symbol for racial segregation.

Best
