Canon t5i - Macro photo too red

I have been trying to photograph an image on brown/yellow aged paper.  But the resulting image always comes out with a red/rose tone to it.

The image is framed, behind glass and I don't want to remove the glass.  I am using the EFS24mm lens at 8" distance to subject on a tripod on manual focus with custom white balance.

Automatic white balance comes out worse with a puple hue and Shade white balance setting comes out similar to Custom but not as good.

Picture style is set to Neutral.

Why can't this camera match simple tan color tone?  Why is it turning dusty rose?

Thanks.

Shoot RAW and see if you can make the adjustments you want in DPP ("Digital Photo Professional" canon's post processing software).

I have a solution that I used successfully in the past. Go buy yourself a grey (neutral) sheet at the photo store and take a picture of it under the same lighting conditions. Then take you real picture and use the grey card color to apply the proper lighting setting.

There is always something to shoot/snap, you just have to know how to do it and have the right gear.

I did a custom white balance with a white sheet of paper.  But have read there is a special grey paper that is better.  Will look into that.

I didnt use raw because my old verzion of photoshop wont support the t5i raw images.  Thanks for the tip on canons software.

That said I solved the problem by going to a different print shop.  Their printer printed the cotrect color.  While my inkjet and Staples Canadas print shop both came out rose colored.  Even used a different camera.  Same problem.

I read a thread somewhere else saying that a rose overtone is sometimes a sign of printer software and camera software not being compatible. And that the printer software to adjust image color should be turned off.

Always interesting to own one.

Use Digital Photo Professional (DPP) from Canon to convert your raw files first.

I believe you have a clogged jet in your Inkjet. Do a deep cleaning cycle (it will consume lots of ink however). Also change the cartridge even if you do not have an empty cartridge message If these two task don't fix it maybe your printer is simply broken (ink sometimes dry in the tiny jets and there is really noting to do anymore with it).

There are image/printer calibration software packages on the market but it is a bit complex to setup and I had mixed results with them. A very good monitor is often more practical (example: HP Dream Color, I have an older one and it does magic).

Download Adobe DNG converter. Select the folder with the RAW files you want converted. Your version of Photoshop should work with the DNG files. I have to do that with RAW images from my SL-2 in Photoshop Elements 15.
