Cheapest way to have over/under water photos?

Hi,

it seems my TG5 even with the FTON01 cannot be used with a dome and over/under photos or if it can it may need a considerable amount of money (more than 600USD). Is there any other alternative? I think the most economical one is the use of a GoPro and a cheap dome from Amazon ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01N4F0UMF/?coliid=I1VM18I6MPJQZN&colid=3EEK4DT05YJQ6&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it )... Am I right?

Thx

if you already have the underwater casing for your TG5 then try this:

http://www.aoi-uw.com/products/wet-lenses/aoi-flp-06.html

price indication:

https://www.uwcamerastore.com/aoi-ual-05-underwater-0-75x-wide-angle-air-lens

or other solution (more expensive):

http://www.aoi-uw.com/products/wet-lenses/aoi-uwl-04.html

price indication:

https://www.backscatter.com/AOI-UWL-04-52mm-Ultra-Wide-Lens

if you still need casing then this:

https://meikon.com.hk/collections/underwater-waterproof-camera-housing-case-for-olympus/products/copy-of-olympus-tg-5-60m-195ft-seafrogs-underwater-camera-housing

Hope that helps...

this one might be a little tight (with no waves and good technique, might be possible), but the other one should to the trick...

I think it is hard to beat the gopro+dome.  I have been thinking about how to do this myself.  I think one way would to get one of these dicapak, water proof camera bags, then since I already have a wireless shutter release, I could either keep that dry, or use a small sandwich type bag.  I would probably use one of my wide angle lenses, so I wouldn't need to worry about focusing so much, my 17mm starts infinity at like 6ft-9ft, depending on the hyperfocal distance.  I think underwater, I would pretty much just shoot wide open.

Another option I have been toying with is building a housing around the nikkonos 35mm waterproof lens, which are inexpensive, but the nikkonos nex adapters are a premium.

I think ultimately I don't have enough clean water to justify doing it, but it might be fun with kids.

I would be interested to see where this thread goes.
