75mm f/1.8 - Negligible longitudinal and lateral CA and distortion + great contrast and sharpness

Reviews of this lens are very positive all around, but I don't think people realize just how good it actually is. You can't really trick your way out of longitudinal chromatic aberration, especially with a bright lens with this focal length / field of view which is definitely not short of "bokeh". When such a lens is superb at avoiding it, it deserves a lot of praise.

Lateral CA is also a big deal, and contrary to common misinformation, it's far from "easy to fix with software", because when you push your lateral CA handling up in any software (and any hardware / firmware, for that matter) you decrease the overall integrity of your image's colors, especially parts with bright, vivid colors. So a lens that has excellent longitudinal as well as lateral CA handling deserves even more praise. There's a real shortage of such lenses.

But what about contrast? Some lenses, especially bright / fast lenses which are pretty good at CA handling actually really suck at this most important feature. This one doesn't. In fact it's, yet again, excellent.

But then, what about sharpness? Well everyone knows that this lens is QUITE sharp.

Bokeh quality? "Busy bokeh"? No. "Silky-smooth bokeh"? No, but pretty close. It looks good, no issues.

Some details: Don't expect the CA handling of f/1.8 and f/2 to be anywhere near what it is at f/2.8 and above (and especially f/4 and above). f/2 is significantly better than f/1.8, and f/2.2 is significantly better than f/2. You wouldn't expect such big differences, but they really are big. f/2.5 is somewhat better than f2.2, and starting from f/2.8 you get into Really Good Quality territory CA-wise as well as sharpness-wise.

Kind of common knowledge (confirmed by patent illustrations): It's entirely a Sigma design. Maybe also manufactured by Sigma, but no confirmation.

Like many others, I can't get over the fact that it's not weather-sealed. Yeah yeah, I haven't had a problem yet, but if Olympus isn't confident to call it weather-sealed, then it's for a reason, and that's not good.

Here's an example at a place where I've regularly had lenses fail miserably. Also a good showcase of the great contrast and sharpness.
