Samsung Nx Mini + 9mm + 9-27mm + 17mm + nx-m adapter + original leather case for 625$?

I was looking for one Nx Mini and I have found this kit.

All like new.

Do you think it’s expensive?

the 17 mm 1.8 and the nx-m mount adapter to be able to use nx lenses on it are rare to find and expensive I think.

I do think it's expensive but I suppose the price can be justified given how rare they are to find these days. Surely there are better options than this on the market by now though?

Its a good kit for a cheap price; that said, I think one should focus on getting the NX1 or NX500, as they are the best Samsung NX products. If you already have NX1/NX500 than sure, an NX Mini wouldn't hurt

Based on used prices for these items individually, it is a very good price. This a a very good camera with nice dynamic range and the 17mm lens is a real gem. If you want one, go for it, just know that the RX100 iii will give better results overall, but at the 17mm focal length the mini wins easily. Also, the 9-27 zoom tends to have a high failure rate and I experienced that failure too.  BUT....those Samsung colors are still the best in my opinion and way better than Sony.

Thanks for your help.

I think i´m going to buy an EPL-9 with kit lens + 45-150mm + a good prime, for not much money, and it´s a better kit.

Sure. May I ask why? A m4/3 system is not significantly smaller than a NX kit, and several NX cameras deliver far better quality pictures than any m4/3 camera. The added benefits of NX system are shallower DOF than m4/3 system for similarly spec'ed lenses.

Allow me to chime in with a slightly different view...
1

I've never had the NX Mini, that is until recently, because I always focused on various APS-C NX offerings such as the NX300, NX500, and NX30. I recently sold the NX300 because with the NX500, I found myself using the latter most of the time.

But as of late, I became interested in replacing some of my small-sensor enthusiast models with the larger 1" sensor cameras on the market. Realizing how much I enjoyed how Samsung renders colors (color tonality), I took the chance a few months ago and scoured the net to find a new NX Mini (silver and brown version) with 9-27 MM kit lens. I then also purchased an NX to Mini adapter from a forum member here - I ordered that from Norway where he resides. I'd like to get the 17 MM IS, but that will set me back $300 for a new one, so I'm holding off.

Now in getting back to the NX Mini, the first thing you have to realize is that without a lens, this looks and feels like a cell phone (which is not necessarily a bad thing). The camera slots open from the side - both for the Cell phone type of battery and for the very small SDHC card, so you have to adjust for that. The nice thing about the batteries is that they last for a very, very long time and they are very cheap to purchase on eBay or Amazon for Samsung originals. I even purchased a battery charger, rather than use the USB charger that comes with the camera.

What's nice to see are:

1. The same dynamic color tonality as Samsung's regular NX line.

2. Wonderful IQ capabilities.

3. Fairly good dynamic range - actually, more so than I expected to be sure. It definitely blows my Samsung EX-2F out of the water with regards to dynamic range.

You see, I have a tendency (at times) to pursue some camera models that were released in the past and that I had overlooked for whatever reasons. I overlooked this NX Mini, because on the surface, I just didn't care for how it looked. Well, now that I've revisited this camera (and have acquired one), my most immediate thought was, "How in the hell did I miss this one, as I should have gotten one while it was still in active circulation?"

So, if you haven't already done so, I'd recommend getting the NX Mini. And BTW, that price you quoted in the OP is not bad at all - that's lots of stuff for the money. Of course, as buyers, we want everything at the cheapest possible price - but there are limits and it's important to be reasonable.

In a few weeks I'll be doing a belated personal review on the NX Mini, pending a trip we're taking to the coast during the middle of July. When I get back I'll put up the review. In the meantime, for other NX users, if you're still an NX fan - I'd suggest considering the Mini with the 1" sensor as it could very well be the perfect carry-everywhere camera. There's still quite a few of them on eBay (new):

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=Samsung+NX+Mini&_sacat=625&rt=nc&LH_ItemCondition=3

As my close buddy, "Johann the Elf" (see below) says - image taken by the NX Mini and 9-27 MM lens - you need to get that Mini.

Re: Allow me to chime in with a slightly different view...

My very quick thoughts on the mini.

first, you are correct that you get Samsung colors with the mini. To me that is the number one reason to own this camera along with the excellent dynamic range.

The mini has a bit of an identity crisis though. What is it good at other than the above? For the most part the RX100 series is better in every way. The 9-27 is just an ok lens. It’s slow and kind of futsy to use. Plus it makes the mini not so mini. The 9mm is slow but the most practical to keep things pocketable and very light weight. Certainly gives beautiful results outdoors in good light. The real gem is the 17mm. It’s a 45mm equivalent at f1.8 AND has OIS! It makes gorgeous photos and is the most compelling reason to own this camera. But it is hard to find at a decent price.

You know, it's obviously all subjective...

I most certainly agree with you about the lens part.  My 9-27 actually seems very decent with good sharpness levels all the way around, although I wish it would have had a rubberized coating when you zoom - 'cause what you feel is all metal when zooming, and that feels strange and not necessarily ergonomically sound - but hey, it is what it is.

With regards to the Sony 1" sensors, that's where the "subjective" comes into play.  I know myself (and quite a few others) do not necessarily enjoy Sony colors - I know I never had.  This is not to imply that Sony cameras aren't good - by all means, they are superb instruments from what I can see (and I'm sure mirrored by many Sony users).

But how colors are rendered are a very personal thing and that's one of the main reasons for my still staying in the Samsung camp (although I shoot with a variety of other brand mirrorless cameras also).  I'm primarily a scenics shooter, so the Samsung line does that superbly, however, I do not like Samsung with regards to skin tones - that I rely on Fuji, Olympus, and Canon for.

I'm just surprised that I didn't "discover" the NX Mini sooner.  I do plan on tracking dow a good 19 MM though, that's for sure.

Re: Allow me to chime in with a slightly different view...

I have an nx500 which I love, but the mini with the 17mm never leaves my pocket. I just love the speed, the way it "sees", the colors, everything. If the mini had shipped with that lens it would have made a huge splash I am sure.

When "newgear" acquisition fewer kicked in a few years back I briefly flirted with a ricoh gr, but I soon realized the mini with a 17mm is superior in every way. So instead i ended up buying another mini which I use with the 9-27 kit lens.

My only gripe is, the software does not work with newer androids, so I am still using an old tablet just for remote shutter purposes.

Is it the same software that the NX1 uses? Because I thought that it wouldn't work with my Samsung note 9 running Android 9 but I eventually got it working.

For transferring photos, you can always use a WIFI SD card.

Transferrig photos directly to phone or tab is more convenient with a WIFI SD card.

Transferring is not a problem, (i stick the card in pc and upload pics to gooogle photos) even emailing from the camera works, the excellent remote shutter and viewfinder capabilities of the app are the reason I have to keep an old tablet around.

Re: Samsung Nx Mini + 9mm + 9-27mm + 17mm + nx-m adapter + original leather case for 625$?
1

I got the Mini with 9,9-27, flash, leather half case, and 16gb card for 215$ a year ago. I know 17mm lens is rare and goes for a couple hundred, the adapter goes for another 200-300$ so the deal is not crazy. It's a reasonable price however I don't see the point going this route.

1" sensors are not a great idea given that full frame cameras are getting smaller and cheaper.
I mainly got it as an experiment to use with C mount lenses ( I got a couple Angenieux and Navitar f0.95 lenses) but the quality is quite mediocre. I also got adapter to use Nikon and M42 lenses which with a lot of light are not bad.
