Good for you on taking the RX10 IV!  I, like many others think it’s a wonderful travel camera and your fantastic shots again proved the point.  Many happy shooting days with it and thanks for sharing your experience and photos with us.

Sincerely,

Mina

Great shots Robbie and as many other have said the RX10 IV has proved time and again to be a very worthy travel camera. I took mine on a 5 country excursion in the far east and it performed exemplary. (Yellowstone looks like a slightly scary place to be for a city dweller like me. 😉)

50mm on camera such as RX10 = 135mm equivalent....  I agree, great shots!!

Still way, way too close for a wild bison!

Stayed in the car😬  He was along the side of the road and I shot this through the window!

Was this true of the bear as well?

Thatw a stroke of luck, then.  Gorgeous shot.

That's the nice thing about the RX10IV. You can get up close and personal without peril.

50mm is only ~135mm FF equivalent. To get a close headshot of a bison at 135mm is still quite dangerous!

Mine is even closer - 43.48mm, and I wasn't in any danger.

A ranger let a group of us hang around the side of the road and watch this bear as it meandered around for a bit.  When he started moving in our direction, the ranger directed us to get in our cars.

I know! This was one of the first bison we saw as we entered the park too! My wife took a video of the experience with my excited kids squealing in the back of the car.
