Great shots, well done. I keep trying to find a location where the swallows are not always above me with a sky background.

Lol... Cocky says "Pizzorff... I'm busy eating".

Of a great series this really jumps off the screen. Not everybody gets to use another bird as backdrop.

Great to see you're sorting out the new kit so well.

Cheers,

See my reply to Tony Rogers...

AF Scanner was on 2. I used to use 3... I might try that again as well.

In my opinion Mode 3 is better.

Also try "AF Area pointer" on ON2.

In my opinion the 2 settings will give you an improvment.

As I say, usually to my lovely wife, "Yep, yep, yep...".

I try to work to live, instead of live to work, but those damn m43 manufacturers keep bringing out more lenses!

Excellent shots and nice work to get these. One of the hardest BIFs to get and a fine job nailing them. Love the colours of the welcome swallows, they just shine in the right light, nicely done.

All the best over your way and more when you can. Love shots like these with great details.

Danny.

I have had a few good sessions over the years, but I got the 300 Pro soon after the X and the faster f4 aperture (thus lower ISO) than my PL 100-400 and slightly better resolution, makes these slightly my best ever. AF wise, the X is a touch better too IMHO. The first shot is one of very few over the years where ISO, focus and lens IQ all worked together.

Interesting.  What body did you use with the PL 100-400, E-M1.2?

A stunningly good set if flight shots! You may have little time to go out a shoot, but you certainly make the most of it.
