Noctilucent clouds: GH4 Tlapse and 56 mm 1.4 on em1.2

It was a good display. Or better: it is. In 30 minutes I will go again since it will become lighter at the horizon which in from half may to half juli never gets really dark over here in The netherlands.

The GH4 does SO well with timelapse. I also note that manual focussing is a lot easier since the GH4 shows you when you reach infinity. Which is what I need.

The Em1.2 shot is a single shot. I did multiple HiRes shots which work well however the cam shows them much brighter than they really are in the end on the screen!.

I have done some indoor sports with the cam plus the 56 mm f1.4 Sigma, macro shots, portraits and now noctilucent clouds and the lens is simply stunningly good. And that is; wide open!

Here the tmelapse of these marvelous clouds shot with the 35-100 F2.8 Panny on the GH4.

Timelapse shot every 5 second, 8,3 fps.

And just one nice pic with the Sigma and the EM1.2.

A nice display that started pretty high up at 50 - 60 degrees or so.

As a retired meteorologist, I must say this is impressive work. I enjoyed seeing the lower level clouds moving by in front of the noctilucent display. I do find the single shot the real star of the show. Well done!

I am very much into meteorology and climatology. Have been a columnist for the Dutch Society of Meteorology and climatology. We had quite a week over here. Many supercells one even better developped than another. A couple of tornado's one of which had a 33 km long trail of luckily light destruction etc.

I regularly lecture on climate and climate change, next week I have been asked to explain the rising sealevels and what it means locally for instance. Nice to do!

The noctilucent cloud are sort of symbolic to me as astronomy is a passion of mine and these clouds hover in the mesospehere at about 83 km they are at the edge of space.

Thanks for your compliment btw and glad you liked it.
