Sandisk Extreme Pro or Extreme or ultra for t6

Hi,

Which would be the more reliable card for the camera and would be  the best fit given the write speed of the camera..

Sandisk Extreme Pro looks like it has the best Write speed, which is the more relevant detail. UHS II isn't necessary at all.

Hope this helps.

+1 I've been using Sandisk Extreme Pros for many years.  Love their ruggedness, speed, and reliability.

There are various versions of the Ultra (with differing read/write speeds).  Your camera body probably maxxes out at about 45 MB/s?

Your call, but I prefer the maximum performance and reliability of the Extreme Pro.

I suppose it depends on what you're going to do with the card. If you check on various dash-cam forums, you'll find that Sandisk Ultra has a terrible reputation for dash-cam usage, which involves heavy writing and overwriting (hundreds or even thousands of times) of huge volumes of video data. Whether that's at all relevant to usage in still photography, I don't know.

Reliability in the consumer-grade SD world isn't something that's easily determined. In the high-priced world of commercial- and industrial-grade SD cards, the manufacturers describe what technologies are used, which at least gives you a clue.

Anyway... for my personal usage, I'd be okay with an Ultra because if a card goes bad and I lose the photos on it, it's no big deal. My pictures aren't important. Even so, I still go for at least an Extreme because I just don't want the hassle.

I've indeed killed less expensive cards with various dashcams.

Until I discovered the SanDisk High Endurance Video Monitoring Cards. Years writing continuously to the same card(s), no problems.

Similarly, 24/7 video surveillance systems are best served by the Western Digital Purple HDDs (IME).  And I only buy the WD Black HDDs for my computer storage needs (to pair with my SSD drives).
