Firmware Version and CHDK ???

I have several Canon compact cameras that I have been experimenting with trying to install CHDK; including, three SD870 IS, an SD880 IS, and an S90.

I have read and re-read everything I can find about how to determine which firmware version is on each of these cameras, including the ver.req trick; no matter what I try, all I ever get is "Firmware Vers 1.0.0.0 and an Okay button.

I have 64-bit Windows 7 Pro on hardwired machines; I don't do wifi.

Every method that I have found in internet searches yields the same 1.0.0.0 result.

Surely determining the firmware version is not such an impossible feat.

Thanks for reading and all help is appreciated.

Re: Firmware Version and CHDK ???

Are you sure they're not all 1.0.0.0? If you didn't update them then that's maybe what they should be.

Just in case anyone else runs into this, the OP's problem was resolved on the CHDK forum. It was related to the file being name ver.req.txt or similar rather than ver.req
