That first photo is absolutely stunning.  It just stayed there while you setup the flash and camera with that amazing angle?!  That's just gorgeous.

Anyways, I'm going to go delete all my Costa Rica photos in shame.

Yep, the first photo in your previous thread was my favourite and likewise with this one!

Really stunning composition.

Truly amazing photos! Did you use both flash and a tripod for the first one (I noticed that yiu had a 10 second exposure)? Did you also use flash and a tripod for the rest? Thanks for sharing.

Regards, Dave

Yes, it stayed. Lucky me, the Nature dictates "no move and survive" to this creatures My camera, flash and tripod were ready as I was prepared for full moon picture. The only question was, what I will find

Hi Dave, I used the tripod for this particular picture, as well as for the bat shot. Katydid shot is combination of flash shot at the beginning of exposure and longer exposure time to get some sky in the background. As it was during full moon night, the exposure was "just" 10 sec. All other pictures were taken with flash on or off camera. There were 3 flashes and 2 LED lights used to create bat picture

Your photos are amazing!  I would like to learn more about your techniques, especially your use of flash. Do you lead wildlife trips?

Many thanks

Jo

Thanks for your kind words! I described my flash technique as well as many many more in my new tutorial, you can find more information on my websites. In terms of wildlife trips, I do most of my trips as a group leader but offer this to czech & slovak photographers so far. Maybe I will do the same internationally one day
