Cleaning lens or viewfinder ? Konica please help ! 😊

So I have a konica autoreflex tc and it looks like it has a dirty viewfinder or inside of the main camera lens. I don't have any good professional camera cleaners in my area is there a way i can open it up and do it myself ? Thank you so much  !

I tried looking it up and couldn't find anything !

P.s. I'm a newbie if it's not obvious so please no big photographer words lol 😂

Remove the lens. Hold the camera up to some light and look through the viewfinder. If the dirt is still visible - and it probably will be - it's in the camera, not the lens.

Don't try to clean dirt seen through the camera itself. It doesn't affect photos in any way, and you're likely to mess something up by poking around in there.

Just get a RocketBlower, or some China Fake. It 100% works - using it since ca. 2006, or so...my FC-1 have had a way dirty OVF, now it's all clean again.

Message from our Sponsor: never pin the Rocket Blower End too much inside the Mirrorbox, means Lens Mount Area - just shortly before, don't -never- touch the Mirror with it. These things are very delicate, and exactly optically being factory-adjusted.

I often clean out the mirror box and focus screen on film cameras with a blower bulb , same as I do with my DSLRs .

As you say , just don't touch anything with the nozzle .

If the o.p can clearly see stuff in the viewfinder it's on the focus screen .

Anything in the lens cannot be seen threw the viewfinder or on the prints .

At most , a lot of dust in the lens can cause a loss of contrast .

A blower bulb costs $1 , you can use it again when the next bit of dirt ends up on the focus screen ( or sensor ) .

Shame the o.p couldn't be bothered to post back on if it's a bit of dirt sat on the screen or if it is within the viewfinder assembly , in which case , as you say  replacement might be their better option .

.

I've had one or two older cameras whose silver ( aluminium ) coating has degraded and come away , usually caused by degrading foam in the housing . This give big black marks in the viewfinder that could easily be mistaken for dirt .

Rather than pay for repair or replacement I've "re-silvered " it by dabbing a bit of silver ink/paint over the missing spots from one of those pens you can get.

Although slightly duller , it works just fine .

The last one I did this with was a pentaprism for a Bronica ETRSi .

A repair would likely to have cost £50 or £60 at least , a replacement would have cost £30 .

The d.i.y fix cost nothing apart from 15 minutes of my time .

Taking the top plate of an SLR isn't for everyone though .

It's over 2 months, and the OP won't come back. It's cheaper, to get a "new" used 7D Konica. They do cost very little nowadays, but i won't shoot with it anymore, just into my collection.

You could have just posted your personal opinion without making yourself sound like an obnoxious pedant who jumps to conclusions in the absence of evidence. The OP, a self-described newbie with one single post, isn't paying attention to this six month old thread anyway, so we'll never know exactly where the dirt was.

But still not as lame as telling the o.p to dismantle their camera without even knowing where the problem is .

And still not as lame as a sad git trolling forums looking at 6 month old threads to leave retarded comments .

Get a life !
