RX10M4 Rough Zoom

Hello,

I just got my new RX10M4 and as I started to play arround a little, I was experiencing some vibrations when zooming in with fast  zoom settings.

When I zoom out (zooming to a wider FOV) it runs quite smoothly.

The problem can be felt best when using the viewfinder as u can feel the vibrations on your eye.

So my question is if anybody else has this issue or if this is normal?

As a side note:

Does anybody know what the button aboveto the focus limiter on the lens is doing?

Even in the book I bought with the cam this button gets ignored...

Was hoping to use it as a custom key

Thanks a lot for your support!

It's the focus hold button - stops the AF for as long as you hold it in.

Re: RX10M4 Rough Zoom

Thanks, I just tried it and you are absolutely right.

Strange that this is not in the description...

And too bad, that we can't map it to other functions.

Does anyone else have the same Problem while zooming in?

Thanks!

Re: RX10M4 Rough Zoom

You can map that button to other functions. I use it for eye focus. To do this:

1) Go to Menu

2) Go to Camera tab 2, screen 9/10 - Custom Operation1

3) Choose Custom Key (Shoot.)

4) Go to the second subscreen

5) Select Focus Hold Button

6) Assign it to whatever function you desire. I picked Eye AF on selection screen 4/21.
