engineering sample of TZE-01 tested by DCFever
11

It seems that this has been discussed already. DCFever has just published an update ( https://www.dcfever.com/news/readnews.php?id=25107 ):

1. There are changes to the engineering sample of TZE-01, silver colored, the electric circuits are now covered with black materials and the company's name is not engraved.

2. Lenses tested using the adapter and Z7: Sony FE 24-105mm F4 G OSS, Sony FE 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 OSS, Sony E PZ 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS and Tokina FiRIN 100mm F2.8 FE Macro.

2a. Regarding the compatibility, the Sony's lenses operate as normal.

2b. The operation of the 3rd Sony lens, i.e. the buttons (incl. the power zoom) and the focus ring, is the same as on a Sony camera.

2c. Auto-focus is not supported and aperture cannot be correctly displayed when using the Tokina's lens.

Head over there for the test video.

Enjoy.

P.S. Sorry for my bad English.

thanks for the update.  When the adapter hit the store? and pricing?

Waiting for it before I buy the CV 110 and the coming CV 21 F1.4.  Hopefully before Aug this summer.

Next month (expected schedule) with a price tag 25,000 yen (8% consumption tax not included), according to Shoten Kobo, the official import agent in Japan.

Can't wait, too.

Just wondering if Canon EF+MC-11/Metabone can work. If so will be great!

Thank you for sharing the video. The AF performance with the 24-105 looks very good, at least for S-AF (I wonder how C-AF would work, as well as the newly released Eye AF).

25,000 yen converts to roughly $225 USD.

Please continue to share any information you come across about this adapter. The Sony 24-105 is a very good lens, and many people wish for a normal zoom longer than the 24-70 that Nikon provided. This may be a way for those people to get their wish.

Thank you, very encouraging .  Thinking about the Batis and Loxia lenses for when the family travels with Sony and Nikon.

Thanks for this alert. Insight for what the future holds in cross-mount compatibility!

Is not Techart also going to release a similar adapter to use full AF etc with Canon EF on a Nikon Z camera?

It’s Kipon that has announced that adapter but so far there has been no word on when it might be available.

Well, if Kipon's doesn't appear, it's likely another 3rd party will step in. Canon to Nikon Z should be lucrative enough

Not that long after its launch last year, the strategic implications of the Z mount are coming to the fore. been discussed in several threads https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/62502851

Equally, the ability to use Sony, Canon and M glass etc on a Z camera must surely pump up the pressure on Nikon to expand its Z Nikkors: not only the officially announced lenses on their roadmap, but closing other gaps including popular medium telephoto zooms (eg 70-300, 80-400).

It's hard to believe Nikon did not see this coming...ie cross-mount adapters for their Z cameras.

Thank you for the links and translation I have the 24mm GM, 24-105 and 55mm , my AF needs are humble so this looks very promising . I have held off buying the Z7 to see what lenses I can bring over

of course they saw it coming, and probably is part of the Z strategy.  It also makes it easier to use for high end cinema lenses to be used on the Z bodies.
