I would say yes, it is worth it. Version 1.50 adds compatibility with the 80mm macro, and the lengthy list of updates between 1.01 and 1.40 can be viewed here:

https://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/firmware/x/xa1/history.html

It's a long list. It looks like compatibility with 7 additional lenses is added with the update, plus several other fixes.

Here's the link to the firmware:

Thank you ReCaptcha! Appreciate!

Always update , it`s very rare that Fuji screw up a FW update - Once ever as far as I know

If you`re a RAW shooter , You`ll love the XA series (and the XT100) as they have a normal bayer sensor like all your other cameras so give amazing detail in pretty much any raw converter out there . the sensor I believe is the one from the Sony NEX-6 and Pentax K5 etc so no slouch image quality wise even today ..

It`s not the fastest camera on the planet, but that`s not a bad thing, sometimes we need to slow down our photography and the XA1 is easier than a plate loaded view camera or an old Sigma DP1

Re: Fuji X-A1 Firmware

Before you update just make sure the battery you will be using holds a good deal of charge, then do it.  Take a couple of hundred shots with that battery to be sure.  They will be old batteries.

Thanks AdamT,

Yes the first impression is the cam. Is... Light! But surprisingly sturdy! Other than that I'm familiar with the UI, ( same as my XQ1;) second yes the AF system is... slow, particularly in less then ideal light, compare to my other cams with Phase detect AF (Lumix fz1000, Nikon V1) other than that.... I have to go out and take same pics!!;) I will report back soon;)

Thanks Crashton,

No worries, The V1 is not going anywhere at the moment;), But I just got rid of my the Oly EPL5, my overall experience with M4/3 system, at the least for me, was just disappointing...

Re: Fuji Xa1

The Fuji XA1 is a little gem. It has a Bayer sensor and when it comes to JPEG colours it beats  most (if not all) of the trans x sensor cams!

the X-100 and X-A1 are amazing for beautiful fujifilm jpegs!

Hi gang,

I found an XA1 model, apparently in very good condition, for a relatively good price? (CAD $270.00, my budget is very limited at the moment) and I missed the APS-C sensor as well the famous Fuji JEPG SOOC in my photography. I’m familiar with Fuji cams, as I owned some of them since the P&S era;)But I never tried a Fuji Mirrorless. For what I read, it is not a an ultra fast camera, as far as AF is concern, FPS ,etc... Other than that is anything else I need to know about this model?

Any input will be appreciated

Thanks for your time.

Price: if it's with lens, ok. If body alone, 150 CAD is what you should expect.

Camera: My favourite camera of the last 5 years. If I didn't shoot video, I would still be using my two X-A1. Even with the X-T20 in my bag, I tend to grab the X-A1 first.

Colors are wonderful, AF is great for stationnary subjects. I just love that camera.

Buy it
