How to choose an used Lumix GH4?

Looking at an used GH4, shutter count is a little more than 4700.

But some suggested that there is no way to check the degrading CMOS due to long exposure of filming video. Is that true?

Not sure would the argument stand.

However you might also consider that the shutter count as being recorded under the engineer's menu exclude e-shutter and hence IIRC how many video be shot on this particular camera might also be unknown.

If its previous owners used e-shutter or video most of the time, that low shutter count might not be able to reflect how it had been used.

Thank you.

what I really concern is that the CMOS might be aging to certain point and I won’t be able to tell.

A long exposure in the dark might be worth investigating, but only if you can compare to another camera. Do you already have an m43 camera? Your gear list isn't helping much.

Yes, I have a Lumix G7.

Great, then I would do something like a 1 or 2-minute exposure in the dark in an unlit room, on a tripod. Try a few ISO settings. Shoot RAW.

It will look ugly anyway, like all Panasonic 16mp sensors, but the question is if there's something different between the two.

I will try as soon as I get the GH4.
