Question about 50mm f/2 & filters

Can anyone tell me please if the filter thread/lens barrel on the 50mm is nice and solid.

Reason for asking is I use filters a lot and don't like using them so much on the 60mm as the lens barrel doesn't feel particularly solid and moves during focusing.

So, I might trade the 60 for 50.

Hi, I use the 50/f2. I have a Fuji Protector filter on most of the time. Occasionally, I swop it for a CircPol filter.  Never noticed or had any issues with the thread.  Hope that helps.

When I had the 50mm f/2, I was swapping infrared filters a lot and had no problem.  Although I was using a 46mm to 49mm step up filter ring as most of the time.

Re: Question about 50mm f/2 & filters

Thanks, I was more concerned that the filter thread is on a solid part of the lens 'chassis', as it is on the 16mm f/2.8, not a 'floating' barrel that may make the lens a bit vulnerable to damage with filters attached.

It's not that at all - the front element and thread are solid/rigid, like the sibling Fujichron lenses.

Great, that's what I hoped, thanks.
