Creating twins in 3-D, examples in parallel pairs per my files

The most minimal form of quote trick photography gets a realism boost in stereo I say.

Easy to start with..In this case I just shot at night with a low ISO and a distance with nothing to reflect back..a beach here was a good place to use on camera flash, in my case a battery capacitor flashgun by Kalart which was smaller than the Realist model..I have a black velvet drop. That is a harder thing to swallow all light as most folks know...

Any others use tricks . Of any kind ? How did it work. What aids or accessories did one use? Did suggestions from the Realist book chapter on tricks or other readings help any?

Twins in stereo----San Diego beach cliff side location. SBS /paralllel Kodachrome slide in Stereo Realist camera. During the heyday of stereo color filming...color still strong and crispy in high res for the time,,

Camera twins shot SBS/parallel An overlap was intended with a plastic guide over finder but not achieved in this pair, which I did not take time to finesse. It is trial and error but kind of fun to experiment. A string over the viewfinder ( easy for the Realist which had a central optical finder with mirrors to the bottom back plate) will show divider ( and placement) of the two sides of double exposure. Getting pure black is always a challenge. Or was then. We need more info on MODERN attempts at such images methinks..gs

Hi, Gerry,

these two image pairs are very simply, and very effectively accomplished for the intended 3D effect.

Super job!

Thanks Wayne,

Glad you appreciate the possibilities with the stereoscopic form. it has not been translated well into the digital era YET. But there is hope. Free viewing is a start...seeing these in a blown up sharp form is impossible to appreciate on the page. I am still hoping for another resurgence. Though I have a two camera set up...and of course my Fuji...Aloha friend.

Holding the famous or infamous Olden Special sweep up the parts bin model before company dropped te line... I still got it. But it gets little use now. It got a lot of use in the 70s and 60s.. a brick. F 2.8 needed a handheld meter ( i had a Gossen Pilot)  or great instinct re middle gray ....and yeas, MADE IN THE USA in WISCONSIN no less!  Electronic flash was a snap to use...with a Hama snap in to the shoe affording a  PC jack to Vivitar 285H my flash at the time..
