Re: some fifties on a Sony A7

An impressive set. Good work with plenty of variety.

I wonder what the building in the second shot was before it was abandoned.

Re: some fifties on a Sony A7

Thanks Letsgokoulos & D.Cox.

@ D.Cox : This castle is build on new land what used to be sea here in Holland but they made land here about 60 years ago.

Construction of this castle was started in 2000, but due to financial problems construction was halted around 2002. After that, it has changed hands a few times but it was never completed. The original idea was to use it as a location to host weddings and stuff like that. It's ruined now. Apparently there are now plans to turn the castle and surrounding land into a themepark, called Witchworld.

Hi,

The f-number used on the Jupiter-8  2.0/50, Jupiter-3  1,5/50 and Carl Zeiss Ultron 1.8/50 is not shown on your photos. Are these all taken at maximum aperture, or at f/2.0?

How do you rate these 3 lenses, I assume the Ultron has the best resolution but how about in terms of the overall rendering? How good is the Jupiter-8 compared to the Jupiter-3, at f/2.0 and f/2.8?

I use a couple, the Nikkor S.C Auto 50/1/4 and Nikkor 50/2. I use the latter mainly on the X-E1 and given its small size, it has become a great travel buddy.

Got this lens for $40US.  I'm pretty sure that it was either manufactured by or uses a Tomioka design.  Has a characteristic convex rear element that protrudes from the back of the lens.  A better performer than the price would indicate.

Pear Blossoms

Mechanically this lens is a bit of a challenge to use.  The aperture preview is a split ring with the aperture and its easy to get them misaligned.  I was surprised by how well this performance especially for subjects like this shot wide open.  Later Petri lenses certainly are not this nice.
