Canadian Rockies 3D

I had a small job in Prince George, BC, Canada last week.  We had to fly over the coastal range to return to Vancouver.  I took a few pairs, handheld in the plane.  They turned out pretty good finally.

Enjoy!

How many people here can't see crossed eyes 3D shots?  Do people prefer direct 3D.  I use crossed eyes because, for me, the result is stunning and it requires no equipment.  What about you?

Regards.

They do look amazing...in parallel  (I had to copy into an image editor and switch them left to right and vice versa).

I had to switch to parallel, too.  I can't do the cross-eyed view, and use a viewer instead.

And they are pretty spectacular.

I have begun shooting stereography only recently, although I've long had an appreciation for the technique. I've been evaluating various techniques and equipment (the Panasonic 3d m4/3 lens, the Loreo APS-C lens, the Fujifilm Finepix 3d W3 camera, and, of course, simply moving the camera). Because of this, I have test shots, but nothing that I would share with anyone.

And I refuse to put forum denizens to sleep with lousy photography.

Ron,

I can view both ways but cross eyed is easier for me.  Very interesting view.

awesome photos, the volumetric clouds are spectacular!

to chime in on the above discussion, I could never personally understand how to freeview in parallel - whenever I do my eyes still go into crosseyed mode and I get the inverted depth.

Hi! Wonderful, wonderful photos, pity that they are not of higher resolution.  Although I am comfortable with both parallel and cross-eye, with slight preference to the latter, I really enjoy the parallel when I view them via viewer that I have made, where I use Sony Z5 premium phone, that has a 4K screen.  This setup is delivering really amazing results, but for that you need to have 4K stereo-pairs, that is why I would long for higher resolution pictures.

Especially the last one.  You can really appreciate the extra information available in the 3D relative to the 2D.  The left/right shots are taken something like a kilometer apart.  It gives you an idea of the scale!
