Canon Rebel & tethering issues

Hey everyone,

I feel like I've searched for a month looking for a solution to this problem. I currently shoot with a Canon Rebel T3 (1100D). I've been trying to shoot with off camera flash (OCF) speedlighg and tethered to Adobe Lightroom Classic CC. The problem that I am having is that when I have everything set to the initial settings (OCF included) and take a photo using my camera shutter button, it will vary from taking the photo from the LR tether capture button.

Let me give an example. I would shoot a portrait with OCF with starting settings of 1/200 second, f5.6 ISO 100 with an OCF of about 1/4 power. By using the shutter button on camera and tethered the results of that photo are very dark and it doesn't matter if I boost the ISO or the flash power. However, using those same settings amd clicking the LR tether capture button the photo is almost there just needing a little bit if dialing in.

Please help! Am I missing something completely obvious or is there a setting I'm not changing.

Thanks in advance!

I read somewhere recently that in Live View you have to change a setting.  I don't know which one.. Ask around
