Can anyone suggest a setting for concert photography using the SX620 HS? I get some really good shots on my SX500 IS using the AV setting but can't find that setting on the 620.

Thanks for the responses....

The SX620 has neither Av nor manual mode.  So your best bet is to see if it has a 'low light' mode.  Even if it did have Av, it's not the right camera for low light with the tiny 1/2.3" sensor.

Totally agree.  All the time and wasted effort that u would spend trying to trick this camera into a state where it might have a slim chance of taking an acceptable photo is much better spent on a larger sensor camera with more manual controls.

I bought this camera for my mom who wanted a snap camera with no manual settings because of her great age (something easy to use). This camera is more oriented towards "types of pictures" rather than manual settings.

I haven't tried all the modes but for night pictures, there is the low light mode and the fireworks mode. However, I doubt that this camera was designed for taking artists at concerts. You'll really have to test that.

A G series camera would seem more appropriate for this kind of venue. The new SX70 is also quite impressive although I do not possess one (but I have seen great pics from it in this forum).

Regards,
There is always something to shoot/snap, you just have to know how to do it and have the right gear.

..Noticed on your recent posted picture from your SX500 camera, had used iso800 on a concert picture (see below picture & link)..
