Best place/site for "less expensive" gear

Hello All

Im interested in upgrading my GX7 to the Panny GX9. I only want the body as I have all the lenses I need (for now),..

In Canada one can only buy the GX9 with the 12-60 kit lens (I hear its a fantastic lens but again I don't need another one),. where can I get the Panny GX9 for a reasonable price for body only?

Ive checked eBay and although the cost seems better than from Amazon, or B+H, etc,. the import fees, tariffs and customs fees bring the price to close to the body+lens kit,.

Any help is appreciated

Weird, I have never paid any import fees or tariffs on ebay. Must be a Canada thing?

Does Greentoe work in Canada? I remember getting some good prices from them, but I haven't used them for a while.

It's an interesting concept - YOU tell them what you are willing to pay, and they will check with retailers to see if any are willing to sell at your price. And they come back with the best they can do.

Sometimes great deals are to be had, often not. Years ago I got a camera kit for a great price. It's a little bit like ebay where sometimes good or bad luck (timing) plays a role.

Generally pricing is somewhere in between ebay gray imports and regular online stores.

i tried the site and I like the premise but it seems they don’t ship to Canada,. Or at least I wasn’t given the option to choose my Province from the drop-down box when it came to choosing a shipping address.

I know this isn't what you were looking for, but the big US camera/lens stores all have quick quoting that makes it very easy to offload a kit lens. B&H offers $150 for a mint 12-60mm, KEH $110-$120. The problem is you are in Canada so you have to see if they can take it and how much is shipping (if the prepaid label they do covers Canada or if they offer discounted shipping for those shipping from Canada). Maybe you can find a store in Canada that offers a similar service.

Might be better than buying the camera gray market and also easier than trying to sell it yourself on eBay.
