Arguably the best bargain premium phone out there at the moment

Bought this model summer '18 when the price dropped to mid-range levels.  Updates are reasonably frequent, currently running EMUI 9.0 / Android Pie.  Camera works with combining the images from two f1.6 sensors, one a dedicated B&W one.   It has been updated too, now includes the spectacular handheld multi-second night-time exposure mode first released on the P20 Pro.   Photos from the back cameras are in the main brilliant  (sometimes the AI mode likes to darken and saturate the whole scene to add contrast and ersatz "drama", but that's a bit of a fail for me when you're shooting flowers under sunny conditions) and they print out well/show up well on the living room tv.  Dynamic range is really good for teeny sensors

, also thanks to the B&W secondary sensor,  and every now and again it's interesting to just shoot in B&W. The front-facing selfie camera is definitely, unfortunately, not best in class - It errs on the side of slight overexposure and can wash out colours and skintones unless conditions are perfect.
