RP base plate for M50?

Have you noticed the base plate for the EOS RP that extends the grip and thus accommodates an extra finger?  Canon or third party, I would buy one for my M50.

I won't buy. Not because i have tiny fingers, but because my lenses will be too big anyway.

Missing one option:

- No, I don’t have little fingers.

YES, I have noticed it.

(Would you buy something like it for EOS M50?)

NO. If I want to have a better grip, I would buy into FF or 7D-like camera, not EOS M system.

The RP is a FF so that would still pose the problem (obviously), and you don't actually own a M50 do you?  So how is the question relevant to you or your equipment? It's not.

He owns a M5.

So how is the question relevant to you or your equipment? It's not.

I think the differences between the M5 and M50 aren't that relevant either for answering the question if you would like a grip or not.

Thanks for your defense for me.

Yes, I have M5 as well as M as my profile shows my gears. I do not want to attach the extension grip to neither M5 or M because I am fine even with EF 24-105L adapted. Maybe yes for something like 100-400.

Regarding RP, I would like to have the grip with the body when the extended body can be put into my bag.

Yeah, guys with small hands should stick together.  Collective denial must be so comforting.

If the M is too small buy a DSLR . Isn't the whole purpose of the M was small size?

To me, the whole purpose of the M is Mirrorless. I purchased the M5 because I wanted to use my Canon EF glass on a Mirrorless camera and NOT a DSLR (2x 5D models of which I already have). I would actually prefer that the M5 was the same size as my Samsung NX-1, which fits comfortably in my hands. A small base plate for the M5 would probably make me very happy. Canon obviously realized this is a concern for enough people that they are now supplying base plates for the new camera.

I guess.

IMO once the M becomes the size of a small DSLR the reasons for its existence comes into question.

The RP is about the size of a Rebel. The M becomes that size you might as well buy the RP.

You're so wrong.

http://j.mp/2KJ4efH

Adding a thin base plate does not significantly alter the overall size advantage, if that's your real consideration.  Just compare the side view of the M50 and the Rebel.

The reason I bought the first M was because I could adapt other lenses like my FD macros. It came with the EF adapter and the FD adapters were under $20.

Size really wasn't the issue.

I was just joking about the small hands thing, but some people take offense at every turn of the page.  It's a way of justifying their pettiness.

I did not defend a person. I defended a point of view. If it was your point of view or not isn't relevant either.

If you have access to a 3D printer there is a basic one on thingiverse

https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3602805

Depending on how familiar you are with the software it can be customized quite easily.

The one I ordered should be here tomorrow or Wednesday for sure. Thanks for the link though. This is probably what I really wanted - just an extension of the grip.

I was surprised at the number and price of the 3D printers, consumer models of course, though my priority is a new workstation.  So I'm not going to be buying a 3D printer anytime soon.
