Bag for multiple small primes?
1

What I'm ideally looking for is a small bag that could fit on a belt which could hold small m4/3 primes.  The largest one currently would be the Sigma 60 f2.8, I also have the Panasonic 14, and Olympus 17, 25 and 45 f1.8's and might be getting a larger one like the 75 f1.8 in the future but that's a little ways off.

Right now I use a DSLR pouch but the issue is that I stack them in 2 layers and if I need those bottom ones I need to juggle a bunch of lenses which I'd rather not do.  So what I'd like is something long with a bunch of small dividers so I could have easy access to all of them.  Does anything like this exist?

If you can't find such a thing, consider getting a wide fanny pack or belt pack and making your own dividers.

I've done this with long, narrow photo bags.

You can purchase foam blocks and cut to your dimensions. Or packing padding. Or plastic bubble packing.

I don't know if they make them in holster style, but I know when I was looking for small bags, the ones designed for camcorders tend to be longer with a divider. Example, I bought a TBC-406 which is a DSLR holster, but the TBC-405 is a camcorder bag which is more horizontal (although only one divider).

Don't know how big of one you need. You can try laying out the lenses and measuring (I kind of did that with my camera and lenses before figuring what is the smallest bag that can fit).

B&H has a camcorder bag series in various sizes. You may have to buy separate inserts yourself or create a makeshift one.

Artisan & Artist do one intended for Leica Rangefinders that might work.

Right now I use a DSLR pouch but the issue is that I stack them in 2 layers and if I need those bottom ones I need to juggle a bunch of lenses which I'd rather not do.

There's a different solution where you take two rear lens caps and glue them together back-to-back (after sandng them flat), so they can firmly connect and protect two lenses.

When you want to use either lens, just lift both out of the bag and take the one you need -- no juggling required.

Apparently double rear lens caps can also be bought ready-made or be 3D-printed.

This ^^^^ is what I do. I simply glued pairs of rear lens caps back-to-back.

The tall pockets of my Domke ruggedwear thus hold two small lenses each, or one large lens.

That looks pretty nice but I have a shoulder bag already, and for next to no money I've actually been shocked at how well it works:

https://www.amazon.com/Medium-Altura-Photo-Mirrorless-Cameras/dp/B01LWIS76G

I can fit an E-M10 mkII and a full kit of lenses in there, or 2 E-M10's and enough lenses to get me through a night.

What I'm looking for now isn't so much for transporting them as having the lenses on me while I shoot and since I already have a second body over my shoulder so another strap/bag hanging wouldn't work.

Would something with a belt loop work for you? For example, here's a camcorder bag with a belt loop. You can also use a carabiner for quicker removal and attachment.

https://www.amazon.com/FOSOTO-Camcorder-HDR-CX405-Panasonic-HDV-5052STR/dp/B075C88K21/

A smaller one ( 6"x2.5"x2.25" inside dimensions according to Amazon):

https://www.adorama.com/solcsu5.html

A similar size but taller (6"w x 4"h x 2.5"d):

https://www.adorama.com/othpxl.html

Or are you looking for something with its own belt/strap for your waist? In which case fanny/hip packs, of which B&H has a big selection:

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Belt-Hip-Packs/ci/177/N/4075788793

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/buy/Belt-Hip-Packs/ci/4094/N/4028759489

Here's one designed especially for lenses (although longer ones):

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/966978-REG/porta_brace_hip_4lens_waist_belt_for_4.html

Most of these types of bags however would not be designed for really compact lenses like in MFT, but more for DSLRs (which is why I suggest camcorder cases as their dimensions are closer, you just have to make your own dividers).

It has a belt loop in the back, can take Peak Design anchors for a strap, and has a spot for a capture clip in the front.

There are additional pockets to fit a cleaning cloth, or other small items. I find it to be a bag that can server multiple purposes. It you want to take just a small camera and a lens or two, all you need is this bag.

Look for a padded insert and stick it into any bag you may already have.

Or, get small individual lens cases, like LowePro 7 x 8cm.

https://www.lowepro.com/us-en/lens-case-7-x-8cm-lp36977-0ww/

The beauty of either method is your ability to use pretty much any small bag to haul your lenses… lumbar, Fanny or sling pack. I often attach one lens case to the sling strap for quick swapping between 2 lenses. 17.5mm and 42.5mm or a telephoto and a macro lens.

Also, your logo encrusted photo gear bag doesn’t scream: $5000 of photo gear inside, steal me!

Looks really interesting, if the cheaper Amazon solution falls through I'll be going with this.

That's my solution for my Nikon gear though I have some generic version of the individual lens cases. They work great but even my small one is pretty big and my m4/3 primes are swimming in it.

And I agree with you about having a plain looking photo bag. I bought an Amazon basics one about 7 years ago and the zipper finally failed a few months back which I think is a solid life for a bag so I grabbed another one for 30 bucks. It's great for a 2x D750 kit but unless you have 2 larger bodies and a ton of long zooms/1.2 lenses it would be hard to fill it:

The top can be snugged down enough to have little movement. I must be extra careful with how I handle bags because I sit lenses on top or side by side all the time with no issues.
I could also slide little pieces of foam sheets in between. I have a bunch of it from when I purchased sheets to make the "black foamy thing" for my flashes.

The good thing is the field pouch is versatile and can serve a variety of purposes.
