Focus Point Question

I'm considering a crop body, maybe the 77D, to compliment my 6D.  Are the 45 focus points a large benefit for static shots or mostly beneficial for moving objects?  I've also looked at the T6i and T6s with 19 focus points.  I do some landscapes and night shots with my 6D and would like a medium priced crop for birding and walk around shots.

Thanks,
Tom Kelley

Re: Focus Point Question

Without looking at the AF specs, it's not just a matter of more AF points, it's likely a matter of a better AF system, overall. I know the 80D is excellent at focusing in lower light, even in live view. The T7i should be similar.

You can also have tighter framing or have the AF point be where you want it to be without having to recompose.

Definitely get a body with the newer 24 MP Dual Pixel sensor.  As has been mentioned, the 45 pt AF system is better overall (for everything).  IMHO the 77D (or even T7i) would be a fine choice (77D has a couple more controls).
