Olymous store - be quick!
1

The forces that be evidently don't want me to have a 40-150 2.8f Pro. Didn't make it in time to get it at a great price from a forum member and then this morning the Olympus store had a sale on a refurb. I put it in my cart, quickly pulled up another page to check a price elsewhere (and I mean quickly, less than 20 seconds) and by the time I got back to my cart at Olympus it was gone! So just putting it in your cart does not hold the item:( Lesson learned!

I don't know what's considered a good price for the 40-150 pro, but there are several for sale on fredmiranda in good condition. Here is the cheapest I could find:

Oly 40-150 2.8

Loving the G80 BTW

Thank you, I will check out your link.

I'm glad you like the G85/80. I did too! I really liked the shutter mechanism on that camera. It's so satisfying to click. It is so unfortunate I can't have everything.

Check with Massdrop frequently. Few weeks ago they had half dozen brand new 40-150 F2.8 for $895 but I did not buy. I still have my 50-200 SWD which is still very good for what I need. Massdrop have had the 40-150 F2.8 on sales twice in the last six months. So keep an eye on them.

The refurb was $900 with the coupon, so the one you found is still cheaper. Knowing that it's been checked by Olympus would be worth the extra $100 I think. I was considering it myself, but even on sale it's still out of my price bracket.

Just to give you some GAS: I've had my 50-200 SWD since new and the 40-150 (other than extra reach) is a much nicer lens. Feels better-engineered and seems more responsive on AF.

The constant f/2.8 is another plus; the 50-200 SWD loses f/2.8 very early into the zoom.

Thanks for the GAS. The 40-150 has been on my list for AF on video for quite a while.
