Several things here...

1.  To begin with, I've dined at various Staff Noncommissioned Officer clubs throughout the Marine Corps and for most of them, I remember some great meals - so I imagine many of the O-clubs are even better.

2.  People posting shots from the NX Mini are rare - but when they do, oftentimes they are superb (dynamic colors) images.  I've been debating whether - even today - to try and get an NX Mini with the zoom lens.  Then one side of my head says, "hell no, you don't need another friekin' camera.  But then almost instantaneously, the voice from the other side of me noggin' says, "screw that other guy - just get the damn camera." I'm kind of leaning with the guy who is telling me to get the NX Mini.

3.  Nice shots - the clarity is really nice and that's the key.  You can have a $10,000 camera and lens combo, but if the image clarity is not there - meaning, scenes which draw you in as if you were there - then what good is that setup?  But these look nice, making you appreciate the meals showcased.  I do think the 2nd one (salad) does appear a tad bit over-exposed here, however.  But that's just my monitor I suppose.

The club at McChord is a combined Officer's/NCO club. Not enough business to justify separate clubs. I was enlisted for 11 years and commissioned for 10. My wife was enlisted for 20 years.

The room was just a grill; salad bar and sandwiches mainly. It is open from 11:00 to 1:00. I don't know about the dining room schedule; we rarely go. Sometimes we will take the family to Easter Brunch.

I like the NX Mini for it's size and quality of pictures. Take a look at the dpreview ratings. They give it good marks.

I got it because I don't want to be laying on my death bed some day saying "I'm glad I didn't buy that Samsung and that my money is safe in the bank so my children can fight over it."

The only other small interchangeable cameras that come close to the Mini are the Panasonic GM1 and GM5. The Mini gets almost as good a rating as the Panasonic m4/3 cameras received. But all 3 are hard to find especially those in good condition.

NX Mini is a great camera. I like using it with my C mount lenses. With a $40 adapter from Ramir73 on Ebay(to bypass the no lens error), I was able to use old and new C mount lenses Angenieux/Navitar/Navitron/ 25mm f0.95 as well as other no name Chinese lenses like 50/1.4 and 25/1.4. It really is a great camera which surpasses even some MFTs.

The only other camera with a 1" sensor is the Nikon 1 which I also have (J5) and they are comparable. To use C lenses on N1 you also need to buy a chipped sensor from Ebay seller from Russia though it is only to get AE/Magnification tool/Focus confirmation dot. I like N1 because you can use a flash in manual.  Nikon also makes a more readily available smart adapter for 100-200$ to use F mount lenses. NX Mini has a Mini to NX adapter.
