Does Oly EM-1 Mk II have panoramic mode

I can't find any specs that show the Oly EM-1 Mk II having a panorama mode. Some of my other cameras have this mode. The pano mode on my Pany G7 is great but the camera is terrible at BIF photography, which is the reason I would like to switch to the Mk II. So, does the mk II have an automatic panoramic mode?

Sadly, while Panasonic provides a panorama mode on some bodies (for instance the GM5), and Sony has it on at least their RX-100 series, Olympus does not offer this feature. I'd really like something relatively small, with IBIS, weather sealing *and* a panorama mode, but this doesn't seem to exist.

Of course you are aware that a panoramic mode is not an absolute necessity. It is a convenience though. It went away as the scene modes all were removed from the E-M1 MKII.

There's more here on this and a refresher tutorial on how to manage without one.

That's why my iPhone is my second camera.😀 I don't know why Olympus doesn't support this. I don't care for having to do it it post processing, even if the results are better.

The mode exist on all Olympus camera, AFAIK, but the E-M1 MKII and X. It is part of the scene mode on these former models. Olympus removed it in an effort to get more credibility as a "Pro" brand. Well, I don't know how much it worked...

While there is a Panoramic mode on some Olympus cameras, it does not produce an in-camera finished image. It is simply an alignment aid, at least on the cameras I have had. Panasonic gives the in-camera finished Pano.

No.. I wish it did. I really liked it on my GX7, and now my LX100

I shoot a lot of panos with my EM1.2 - use pano SW on my computer. Frankly, even if the camera had pano capability, I probably wouldn't use it. If there was the capability to produce RAW panos and it didn't take a long time to do the processing, maybe... Still, I really prefer the control I get on the PC.

I do use pano on my Pixel 2 phone but like the panos shot on my EM1.2

Then why not to do it in the phone? If the IQ doesn't matter so much that not good stitching is ok, then phone can do it very well.

In my experience both the Panasonic and Sony panorama modes work well enough to be useful, and I do use them; I don't want to have to fiddle around in post.

I wasn't aware Olympus had any panorama features on anything. However, since I only usually make panoramas when hiking or backcountry skiing, I don't carry the E-M1.2 then due to bulk and weight, so it's a moot point.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I meant that get the images that you take with your camera to your phone/tablet, and then use there some of the many applications for the stitching. You get far better results than any camera built-in or even the phone camera applications softwares does.

Just remember, smartphone or tablet is nothing more than a computer with a cellular network capability.

That is why it is nice when you can:

Turn camera On and hit Playback
Mark the pictures you want to get on the phone by pressing REC on them
Press OK and choose "Share marked pictures"
Tap WiFi symbol in camera top left corner
Pickup your phone/tablet
Open Olympus Image Share
Wait 3-5 seconds for automatic connection
Accept the transfer of the marked pictures to phone
Wait images to be downloaded to phone/tablet
Process the files as you want by sharing them to wanted apps.

Now what would be very nice addition is a Bluetooth and NFC. So one could just touch phone/tablet on camera and get all the marked images transferred over WiFi or if nothing was marked in camera, get the phone/tablet to open app and list the photos in the camera memory card. And bluetooth for that you can have connection to phone/tablet in camera and then just mark pictures and select "Share" and they wouldautomaticallyy get in the phone/tablet at the background. And of course then a feature that you would have automatic transfer at the background for every picture you take in wanted size.

I'm unfamiliar with the "Sweep Panorama" feature. Does it result in an in-camera panorama image, or just a series of images that need to be combined in post processing?

Same as your phone, so panorama in camera, assuming the Oly version works the same as every other camera with this feature.
