Sal

I think you seem to live in the exact same world that you seem to judge others by then.

The evidence is there, virtually every youtuber who reviews a new camera always states (if it doesn't already have a flip out screen) that the camera would be so much 'better' 'popular' 'convenient' 'attractive' if they'd have only gone an put a darn flip out screen on the camera. All of them, Gordon Laing, Chris and Jordan, 'the everyday dad' the Northrups' ''Max Yuryev' 'Dave McKeegan' 'Jason Vong'....the list goes on and on, they all want a flip out screen and they all reference it for vloggers, like vloggers are the only people who use cameras.
So, no you are incorrect. I am sick to death of influencers droning on about a flip out screen because they do have influence and they should look at the issue from both sides not just the constant need to sell cameras to vloggers.
The fact of the matter is, and especially for video, a flip out to the side screen is a burden, it's slow, inconvenient, obtrusive and nearly doubles the width of the camera. I get it for certain things (the screen on the XT100 is perfect) and yes it would be good, but for the small amount of positives they are completely blown out the water by the sheer stupidity of the design.

You seem to spend a lot of time worrying about what others say about camera gear. There are plenty of gear choices for everyone to be happy.

And I agree though, the X-T100 screen is perfect IMO, although I doubt that I'm much of an influencer.

I don't and please stop being so patronising.
I observe and because it is something I feel so strongly about then it affects me. I am concerned purely because they are influencers and camera companies listen to them...and because of this they should consider their actions more. That's it simple.

If this were actually the case, we would have had Canon DSLR's and FF mirrorless cameras with IBIS and functional 4K years ago.

To be honest, I wish this X-T30 has the X-T100 flip out screen.

Otherwise despite the good video features, it cannot attract vloggers.

It's an annoying feature that is most appreciated by a tiny percentage of users.

I've had several cameras with flip out screens and selling one right now, the Panasonic G85. Useful yes but incredibly annoying as it just about ruins the ergonomics of a photo taking experience. Always hated that "wing" hanging from the side of the camera.

Needless cost, complexity and annoyance to those that don't give a care about such a feature. Thank you Fuji for having the courage not to listen to a very vocal minority!

A flip up screen (like the X-T3) is a requirement for me to buy a new body. It's a feature that I have wanted for a long time.

I had noticed this in the specs for the X-T30:

AF-C CUSTOM SETTINGS ?????? - is this the customizable AF-C or the presets already in the X-T20?

But i was unsure if this means that the X-T30 has the customizable AF-C setting like the X-T2 and X-T3, and it does. I think this is also a nice addition from Fuji and an improvement over the X-T20.

Watch the DPReview hands on initial review.

That is the interesting part, at time 7:05 to 7:08 it shows what looks to be a custom AF-C CUSTOM SETTINGS like on the X-T2/X-T3, and at time 0:18 Chris says that it is full production firmware. So is it what I hope it is, or not?

From what i have seen im 99% sure they have added the customizable option from the T2/T3.

That is a good thing.

At this point the concern is really the joystick, everyone is saying its a bit fidly and too low. And a joystick too low on a camera with a small front grip....not sure it will work.

Lets wait for them to be in the shops...

I do not own a Fuji camera, but I would agree with that, although I would imagine there will be optional grips available. On the other hand, the 4-way controller on the X-T20 seems rather low too—admittedly without ever handling one—but maybe someone who owns an X-T20 could comment on that?

If the joystick was any higher, then there wouldn't be enough space for your thumb to hold the camera without accidentally hitting the joystick.

I own one. The D-PAD usage is quite different, because you press the buttons instead of pushing them to the side. Try grabbing your camera, and moving your finger to both sides, and then simulate you're pressing a button. it does feel diferent, and personally i don't see much control with a joystick if my finger is bent downwards... but still need to try physically, im just guessing....

That might be true because of the new larger thumb grip. Still, an excuse isn't a solution...so will wait and see how it feels.

My brain might also be affected by the tracking of the a6400 and the sigma 56mm 1.4.

However the 55-200 is holding me where i should be, won't pay €1000 for a f4 telezoom.
