E-M1X Pelicans
108

I just returned back home from my short and unexpected trip to Greece Kerkini lake. This place is famous for Dalmatian pelicans population and I found it as great opportunity to try E-M1X AF on real subjects. After some adjustment I found it very capable and working more than just well. I will write some article regarding to my AF experiences. Till than let me share first few pictures out of the trip.

Most of my pictures are "almost" ready from the field. I adjust kontrast, brightness, saturation, slightly crop, if necessary local denoise/sharpening. Find two examples before/after below. My workflow contains Capture One, Photoshop, Neat Image and Nik Collection. Usualy 5 - 10 minutes of work I am looking forward to Capture One support of E-M1X, since that I have to use Oly Workspace but I am not satisfied with details I can get out of the pictures, Capture One/Lihgtroom/PS are much better.

Wow these are beautiful images....

Love the 1st one with the Pelican's beak in the background......looks weird as you think the beak is open at first until you take a closer look.....

Interesting the edit examples you showed. The 1st image I have a question. If you exposed a little brighter it could have been perfect without editing.....any reason for the under exposure?

Congrats again.....

Thx for your explanation. C1 is what I want to use too after seeing what you describe all the time in quite a few comments and the odd review that uses C1to develop the RAWs.

I think today there is this assumption that great images have been edited to greatness, these before afters show how close you really are in camera!

Thanks, now I am off to Cuba!

Awesome photos, although wonder why none of the usual suspects are in here trying to explain to us why the Em1x is wrong and can't compete.

There is my article (just in czech language so far) where I explain what is typical look of my pictures. 96% are without any touch and only about 4% needed some retouching (just 5 examples, I didn't find more pictures) http://www.sulasula.com/cs/olympus-pred-a-po/
