Fuji Camera Remote not working (again)

Hi,

Sorry if the repeat.. I had it working and not working (connecting and not connecting iPhone to the XT3) in the past. Last times I fixed it by Reset of Connection Settings on the camera, Forgetting WiFi network on the phone, rebooting the phone, taking the battery out of the camera, then re-pairing the camera, connecting to camera's wifi, and things worked.

I now have a more peculiar status.. I repeated the above cycle with variations several times. I consistently get to the same state: Camera shows "Connecting...", Phone shows "Connecting.." (neither shows "Connected"), and Remote Shutter works however Browse Camera does not and Firmware Upgrade does not.

When I click "Browse Camera", it goes there but shows empty content on the phone. Camera continues to say "Connecting...." (after I answer camera's prompt allowing to connect from iPhone).

When I want to upgrade the firmware, I get an error after download on the phone completes: "Camera is busy try again later".

I dont think y'all have a solution besides cycling through reinstalls. I just wanted to check whether when you go to Browse Camera on the App, does it still show "Connecting..." on camera or it says "Connected"?

thanks,

mark

Re: Fuji Camera Remote not working (again)

Can anyone help me use the fujifilm remote app ? I’ve been a Fuji xf for years and LOVED the app to transfer pics to my iPad and iPhone. But suddenly the app doesn’t work. Spent over two hours resetting the phone, the iodadand resting the app itself so it has no cameras. But it fails to recognise any of my xf cameras even those without Bluetooth.  Help....!

Re: Fuji Camera Remote not working (again)

There was a recent announcement from Fuji that "camera remote" app and iOS13 are not playing well together.  I recently upgraded to 13, and my brand new X-T3 will not bluetooth pair.  Wifi sometimes works for a minute or two before the app just disconnects.  To me, Fuji needs to up there game with respect to the app.  I have other devices that have similar connection requirements, and the apps for those have all been updated to iOS 13 ahead of its release.  So I am waiting for the updated "camera remote" in the hope that it will fix things, but am not holding my breath.

I'm running into the same issue. I've tried reaching out to FujiFilm on Twitter, Facebook, and their support page, but it's all a pretty terrible user experience.
It's been so bad I'm actually considering buying a different camera and setup.
I wish there was a place for us to go to directly communicate with someone from that team.
Would love to hear if anybody finds any workarounds.
I think this is 100% due to the latest IOS updates that occurred this Oct.

Still no update from Fujifilm on the iOS app store.  Fuji has previously admitted that the app doesn't work with the iOS 13.  It will not allow BT pairing with my X-T3, and wifi does not work either.  As good as their cameras and lenses are, I think their application software support is terrible.

Honestly so frustrating. I'm an X100F user and I literally rely on that app to let me transfer wirelessly to my phone, as I hardly ever have time to sit and download them to my computer.

Wonder how long it'll take for a fix...

Re: Fuji Camera Remote not working (again)

I have had serious disappointments with the Camera Remote app on 2019 photography trips to Alaska, Canada, and NYC.  I have been unable to post in the field to social media using my iPhone 7+ running iOS 13.1.3.

I have visited my expert at the local camera shop multiple times, and read every forum post and watched every YouTube video.  This is really unacceptable for a company which has a reputation of listening to its customers and updating its software frequently.

If anyone finds a solution (which surely must involve a Fuji software fix), please post it here.

Jim

Yes it is one of the most disappointing things with Fuji. On my current trip did not bring my Lightening SD card reader for iPad (thinking the Bluetooth enabled H1 would be more stable than Pro2) and almost every time I want to transfer JPEGS have had to “delete pairing registration” on camera and go through whole process again. It appears (I could be wrong!) to be slightly better now that I also “reset wireless setting”. Next trip will just bring the SD card reader.....

I found a temporary fix which I have no clue why it makes the app work, but I went into settings and set location settings for the Camera remote app to 'Always' and it has worked ever since.

Re: Fuji Camera Remote not working (again)

I'm still having issues with iOS 13.1 and my X-T3.  With the camera remote update, I can finally pair with bluetooth, but the wifi is still not working.  I can initially see the camera wifi access point from the iPhone, and can connect to it, but it will randomly disappear within a few seconds.  I'm not on the latest X-T3 firmware so that may be an issue.

Re: Fuji Camera Remote not working (again)

I'm on latest iOS and XT3 firmware and it connects reliably for me.  Key thing though is to close the App between use.  If I don't close the App on the phone  (by swipping it up on display open app screen, then it doesn't work)

Re: Fuji Camera Remote not working (again)

Ok, I think I have it working.  There was one step where you need to select 'ok' on the camera when it detects the phone trying to connect over wifi.

It seems like bluetooth is only used for the remote shutter activation.  Does that seem right?

And yes, I need to restart the camera remote app each time.  But in the end it does now work.

Re: Fuji Camera Remote not working (again)

It is so bad that I too am considering a different system altogether. I have three Fujis and while I used to get energized to shoot just looking at the cameras themselves, now I feel only frustration because I know the headaches that come after I shoot images.  I can't stand how bad the app is. I haven't been able to connect my Xpro2 via wifi for a few weeks now. I've spent three hours this morning trying to figure out why it's become so difficult, but there is no answer.

My camera doesn't show my iphone anymore. The app says it's "connected" but it's not. The app doesn't have my iphone listed anymore. The camera doesn't show my iphone. It's all just a gigantic mess. I kind of hate my cameras now, to be honest.

Re: Fuji Camera Remote not working (again)

That statement was put out by Fujifilm prior to the current release of Camera Remote in the app store.  I can only speak for myself, but it works now on my iphone running 13.1.
