It would be much better if you made a post asking why your mac doesn't connect with your camera rather than just starting with an abusive statement.

Photography is meant to be a relaxing hobby, I'm not sure it will work for you in your present state of mind.

As I always say in these situations is to try it on a different computer (Windows of Mac). Just plug it at a neighbor's or friend's computer and you will know right away if there is a camera and/or wire problem. Can't you just use the wifi with you Mac?

Re: Canon 4000D the camera made out of dirt

So here's the deal I'm looking for video which I know now this camera is not best for considering it doesn't even have a internal speaker. I tried to connect on a window computer via cable no connection. I now know that canon 4000D are not compatible with MacOS Mojave which is dumb since they both came out last year around the same time. Photography was born out of more than just peace. Thinking before the camera times like picasso he was was one Mad dude that's life right now for me. So I'm trying to now figure out what cameras are compatible with MacOs Mojave 10.14.3 after update now. Wifi won't work whens it's non compatible.

Misdirected the comments but camera is not compatible with mojave according to the operating system list

https://www.canon.co.uk/support/consumer_products/products/cameras/digital_slr/eos-4000d.aspx?type=drivers&language=&os=macOS%2010.14%20(Mojave)

Which is terrible so I need to get a new Canon that is I'm not downgrading because the 2012 macbook on high sierra is completely trash now so that's no way a option.

I need to know what Canon Cameras are compatible with mojave 10.14.3

Re: Canon 4000D the camera made out of dirt

Ive found the answer for this setup the only option is to use SD card and manually pick files out of image capture this is so very dumb that 5 years later still this is the option for "uncompatibility". But that's the answer I'm getting a 1300 eventually lesson learned.

The fact that you can't see the camera on a Windows computer with the cable is puzzling to say the least. That would be a show stopper for me. You do understand that the camera must turned on to be visible in Windows ("This PC") and from experience, if you don't use it quickly, your camera will turn itself off, cutting the link. If you all did that correctly, I would question the camera itself (like a defective USB port). And I have never seen a single Canon camera not working with Windows 10 with a directly attached USB cable.

Of course, as you said on your other post, connecting the card directly to your computer will work and by the way, this is still the fastest way to transfer images. I still use that method when I have a large number of pictures to transfer. But your USB connection must work.

Re: Canon 4000D the camera made out of dirt

You may want to get a Canon DSLR camera with dust sensor protection.  I don't take off my lenses, but occasionally I'll get these dust "bunnies".  But before I get a chance to consider cleaning the sensor, Canon's dust sensor protection removes them.

You might want to save up for something like a Canon SL2 (with dust sensor protection) instead of a Canon 1300D (assuming that is what you meant when you wrote 1300).  Read the reviews, before you decide.

I think this is more of a Mac error or user error rather than camera error.

If you have the wifi/NFC on, the USB connection will not work. Turn off wifi/NFC first, plug it in, and see if that works.

With a Mac, if you plug in an SD card you can import all the images on the card by simply selecting the “import all” option that is on the import window in Photos.  It's very simple and very fast.

use a card reader. No cable required

EOS utility

No idea why you think it’s not compatible.

The connection is done through EOS Utility, and v3.8.x is compatible from 10.10.

It’s more likely that the canon.co.uk website isnt up to date, so try the canon US site.

i am sorry you feel disappointed in your purchase.

Firstly, as long as you haven’t taken loads of images some retailer will take back a camera which had under a certain shutter count and less than 14 days old (I have no idea where you are in the world or whether this even applies)

what do you want your camera for?  Why do you feel so cheated about your purchase?

All modern cameras are pretty capable, some are just suited to some things than others.
