What's up with Samsung prices?

I've noticed that the prices on E-bay for Samsung's cameras are wild. For example, you can get a gently used  NX300 with lens and a bunch of accessories for $170, or you can get a new copy for $760. I mean, I've heard of taking a hit on the resale, but seriously WTH? Compare this with say a Sony camera where there is maybe a 20% difference in price between new and used. Is it really worth paying the extra 4-5x the price for new? Or has Samsung cameras reached Transformers status?

In the same vein, the price spreads between the NX500, NX1, etc... is just wacky. Buying a whole system with lens and accessories sometimes comes in much cheaper than buying separate. And sometimes not. Watching the prices on E-bay reminds me of Bitcoin.

On a tangent, now that things have progressed for a couple of months (has it been a year?) since the NX1 was released, has any of the competitors caught up with it yet? I remember it was considered the #1 APS-C camera in terms of IQ.

Due to lack of supply at this time (Christmas & NYE) prices went whack. I mean I can sell my NX1000 for €100 if I put it on while couple months ago I would be lucky to get €40-50. I sold my NX500+16-50PZ 3 months ago for €500 which was the avg price back then (lowest was about €350) and now the cheapest goes for €650 or so

Just wait 'till early spring when the weather gets better and people upgrade their cameras to get out with new crap and supply will be much bigger.

Do note that ebay in particular is full of offers tgat are silly high and if someone buys - they get ripped off. I'm talking about 30/2 selling for 500 usd and the like as they never were that expensive (I bought it new from B&H for 200 years back).

I think NX1 would still be competitive today but not ahead of XT3

Prices vary due to scarcity and sellers thinking they are "the market"

Interesting, much progress has been made. I do still think the f/2-2.8 lens was amazing for its time, though now Canon has an f/2 lens.

A huge lens that costs as much as a small used car, but a unique lens nevertheless.

NX1+16-50S are still unbeatable. There is no similar lens in Fuji land, and no such a modern camera in Canon land.

I am reading a lot of complaints about X-T3's QC, it seems that the move of the manufacturing process from Japan to China (or something) gave a hit to build quality.

Just because an item is listed at a high price does not mean it will sell for that price. I recently looked for a used pair of speakers, and on seller had them listed at 3 times what they sold for new. I guarantee they will not sell for that price. Even if the item isn't listed with the "make an offer" option, you can still contact the seller via PM and ask for a better price. Worst they can do is say no.
